Vegetarians do not eat any meat at all, white red or any other color. There are different kinds of vegetarian diets. I believe you're thinking of Pescetarians or Pollotarians . They are omnivores not vegetarians.

Lacto-ovo vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish or poultry
Eats dairy and eggs

Lacto vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish, poultry OR eggs
Eats dairy

Ovo vegetarianism
NO red meat, fish, poultry OR dairy
Eats eggs

Veganism
NO red meat, fish, poultry OR dairy, eggs, honey or any other animal by product. Veganism usually extends beyond just avoiding consuming animal products. It is a philosophical and or ethical point of view which, aims to minimize animal suffering by eliminating the use of all animal products such as leather, fur, wool and silk and avoiding products tested on animals.

Pescetarians, Pollotarians and Flexitarians are NOT vegetarians they are omnivores.

I hope this helped.

weird...but true my best friend is a vegetarian and her friend is a dark meat vegetarian...

White Meat vegetarian is a new oxymoron. Vegetarians, at least the hardcore ones, eat no meat, ever. The guy who only eats white meat, means he that either he does not eat red meat, or when eating fowl (chicken, turkey, etc) he only eats the white meat and not the dark. This means he pays a premium price in restaurants and throws away a lot of fowl.

"White meat" vegetarian. - I could make so make jokes here, but of course I don't want to be reported!

Definition: You don’t have to be vegetarian to love vegetarian food! “Flexitarian” is a term recently coined to describe those who eat a mostly vegetarian diet, but occasionally eat meat. Many people have given up red meat for health reasons while others, for environmental reasons, only eat free-range or organic animals and animal products. Beware, however, that many full-time vegetarians strongly resent the use of this term as such headlines as “Meat-eating vegetarian” confuse and dilute the definition of a “true” vegetarian diet.

so not a vegetarian at all really! :) but this is what the guy might call himself!

Yes. but sometimes people go to extremes saying if your a vegetarian you eat absolutely no meat and if your a vegan you don't eat anything that comes from an animal. I personally was a vegetarian and i ate fish a lot. i really hate eating cow and pig because i have seen and heard many stories on how they are killed.

Some people stop eating red meat and call themselves "vegetarian." But real vegetarians who don't eat any kind of animals will say they aren't vegetarians at all.

Some people use the term more loosely than others.

No because it's an oxymoron. If someone claims they are then they don't know what vegetarianism actually is.

Let me see... what vegetarian food has the name "meat"???
Gosh! I can't think of any.
I think those people just really want to be saying, "I don't eat red meat", but they think that"vegetarian" sounds more exotic -- the main problem is that you cannot go to dinner with these people and they are just not on your same wave length

Not for me. I'm vegetarian, and the only thing I eat that sort of comes close to meat is fish.

Vegetarians do not eat any meat, fish or poultry at all of any color at any time.
Someone who doesn't eat red meat doesn't get a special title. They're just "I don't eat red meat."

That is an abberation of the word vegetarian. A person who still eats a little meat is a vegan. A sole plant eater is a vegetarian. Don't confuse the two.

No. There are lots of people who don't eat red meat, usually for health reasons, but that does not make them any sort of vegetarian. Vegetarians don't eat dead animals, period.

(A.L.F. hasn't the foggiest notion of what a vegan is. See Hala's answer for correct information on that score.)

Nope their just a picky omnivore.

veg·e·tar·i·an - a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.

"White meat" is still meat. if you eat meat, youre not a vegetarian plain and simple.
