" Society will forever judge Hunters by their Compassion for the Animals that they Hunt for and Harvest".*!! Amen Brother its far more tasty and healthier for us than the store bought.* It is also more compassionate and humane to harvest wild game for consumption.*!!

I can see your point. A lot of people would agree with you on that, saying it is better having had the chance to live a life in the wild for at least a little while. Some others would disagree with you saying that the animals that are bred and raised to be killed for their meat don't know what they are missing, so they feel better eating that meat, not having ripped it away from the wild to eat it; since it was never there. Others would say both is cruel.

I am undecided. It would depend on the treatment on both parts. Some animals bred in captivity are treated cruelly, some hunters are also cruel, not killing the animal right away. It would definitely depend.

I think hunting, as long as you eat the animal. Most people don't understand how animals live on factory farms, versus growing up in the wild. Although the animal would go through pain in hunting, an animal in a factory farm would go through pain from birth to the slaughter house.

At least they have had a good, natural life.

Great question, I appreciate why you would hunt.

I am a vegetarian, but no, I don't think hunting is wrong. I have much more respect for someone who is willing to work so hard for their food, then for so called "animal lovers" who think nothing of buying a steak in a grocery store. Sadly, most people are blissfully ignorant to the conditions animals raised for meat are kept in. Personally, I don't think meat is necessary for humans, but I take no issue with someone who is willing to hunt for their food. If humans wandered around the african plains, they would be fair game for the predators there. I think its alot more responsible to fairly hunt an animal than it is to buy it in a neat little package where someone else did the dirty work. If you can look an animal in the eye, slit its throat, butcher it and still want to eat it, then I say you have earned that right. Not so for someone who turns a blind eye and just slaps on the steak sauce. all the while feeding their beloved dog under the table. What makes a cow, pig, or chicken any less worthy of love than a dog, cat, or parrot? IF I ate meat, I would only eat the meat of animals I was willing to catch and kill myself. A gold star for your question-perhaps it will make others think about whats on their plate-what it was, and what conditions it lived in.

Store bought meat is better, because more thna likely the animals were raised in some sort of farm and were killed in the most humane way possible (although I find that statement contradictory to itself). Hunting should only be done as a means of survival, and shouldn't be done, because they may or may not have grown in a healthy environment - like fish that live in a polluted lake, for example. If they got poisoned by the lake, then we're bound to get poisoned too. although that poison can reach the places where they grow the animals, there is a smaller chance of it. I find that at least with store bought meat, I am helping out the economy and someone else's salary.

I am vegan, and I do not have problem with hunting for meat when there is nothing else to eat.

I have a problem with hunting for sports, fur, etc,, Plus people hunt and then eat factory farming - animals.

If everyone had to hunt their own meat. - in the winter because there was no other choices. okay. However, that is not the case today. People over eat animals that are treated cruelly.

edit:- Its all about the money!

As a vegan, I feel, that we always have many choices. However currently our country - and many parts of the world is not choosing kind nor healthy choices to feed our nations. I became a vegan (previously vegetarian) because I do not wish to give my money to companies, and industries that do abuse animals to such greater extent.

Animals deserve their own quality of life. I personally would not kill any animal, however I can understand if it is a situation of survival then yes.

Just say NO!!!

It depends, some like the whole situation about hunting your own food. However, to be specific about the meat itself, bought meats have less of a gamy taste. In many cases different herbs and condiments can be used to improve the taste of meats.
