I think people who eat a healthy vegetarian diet, tend to be healthier than the meat-eaters. Vegetarian diets are also much nicer to the planet, as meat production in so many ways is a planetary disaster, contributing to global warming, all kinds of pollution, and uses too many of our resources.

I think each to their own and nobody has the right to criticise anyone over their choice of food.

What's the point of eating meat? Besides delicious food probably no point! I think that vegatarians and vegans who decide to be that way made a conscious decision! I think people who seek approval by constantly mentioning their diet whether vegan or anything are lacking something in their life!

Well I think meat was put here for us to eat. I don't disrespect vegetarians and vegans because they don't eat meat, as a matter of fact I think you guys are brave, I have to milk and nachos and what not. Your diet must be colorful but I prefer a wider variety and I'm a person that likes food. Limiting yourself like that, I wish I had that kind of self control.

im vegan because i dont think any other living thing should have to suffer because i want to eat it, or something that comes from it when i can easiy get good nutrients from elsewhere.

it makes sense, and ever since going vegan i feel better and my skin is glowing

I think both are a good choice as long as the diet is carefully balanced.
I deplore animal cruelty, buy free range and organic produce. w
Would miss chicken, bacon, eggs, milk, butter.

I agree with you -meat is murder- though I rather say that I dont eat meat ,rather than say I'm vegetarian- my doctor is also a vegetarian--check out another doctors site below for recipes and animal rights issues

we are all individuals so each to there own, i used to be a veggie but changed my mind. to be honest i still don't eat a great amount of meat.
What can i say bacon sandwich broke me.

If we went for a meal and you sat scowling at me whilst I tucked into a steak, then I would think you were being a bit of a pain. If not then each to their own. You made your choice, and I have made mine. It doesn't make either one of us a bad person!

People are not bad because they choose to eat whatever, terrorists, now they are bad!

I used to be a vegetarian for 18 years so i can understand why people choose to be. However the longer i was one the more flaws i see with that lifestyle choice. Eating meat is perfectly natural(though the way it is farmed and mass produced is not), also how many vegetarians wear leather, eat things with beef gelatine in them, eat colouring made from insects, eat jams, peanut butters drink wines etc which all contain animal residues. Being a true vegetarian is extremely difficult, and dont even get me started on the fact that male chicks are killed in egg producing farms, so even if you only eat dairy and not meat, you still contribute to animal cruelty. You can try to eat free range eggs at home, but you've no guarantee where eggs in any pre-made things you eat came from. Like I said true vegetarians are few and far between!

It's an unnatural diet, but if you think meat is gross or cruel that's fine (I'm an ex veggie).

It can trigger multiple sclerosis attacks though, and a lot of people stop being veggie because they feel weak and low in energy. A standard pre-agriculture human diet is about 68% flesh calories, we did not evolve to eat like cows. You should try talking to some ex veggies about why they quit.

Vegetarians live longer because they eat better, don't smoke or drink as much and generally come from a better social class. A meta study showed that when balanced for lifestyle factors, fish eaters live longest, normal meat eaters and veggies eaters tie, vegans and heavy red meat eaters have the shortest lives.

Some notable studies have shown fish has anti-carcinogenic factors in it. It's only red meat that seems to have any carcinogenic effect, and only when eaten in large amounts with fruit, veg nuts, or fish. Veggies get lower rates of cancer and heart disease because they eat more fruit, veg and nuts, not because they don't eat meat.

Vegetarianism is fine. My bf is a veggie. Since I've been with him, I haven't eaten much meat as I'll probably have the same as him at dinner (unless we go out and there's meat something on the menu I just can't resist, or maybe one night I'll say I want fish and chips). Now, can't say I find steak or pork chops appealing anymore.
Veganism however, I think is a little OTT, particularly if people chose to be vegan just so people have to make special considerations for them (like my bf's brother, who I reckon just wants attention). If cows aren't milked, they're in pain. The eggs of a chicken go to waste if they are not eaten. If however a vegan is vegan because of an allergy, that's fine.

I have no problem with your diet. However do not get between me and the meat counter at the deli. Call it murder if you wish but murder is illegal and slaughtering livestock is legal.

We do need meat to keep us strong and healthy. Although Im a vegetariun on chicken because they alreadygive us the egg

You wouldn't be too snooty about eating meat if there was nothing else around! ( you'd probably eat me if it came down to it).
