A question for all Vegans?!
Answers: Do you take any supplements? x
I do but not because I am a vegan. I take supplements because I have a lot of knowledge about them. I used to own too health food stores and take various supplements at different times based on the context if I am getting sick, tired, depressed, needing more mental clarity, etc.
I would suggest supplementation for people more than just vegetarian and vegans. It is not that one cannot live without them but if used correctly they can help one to live a more optimum life.
I don't. I let my personal healthy guide me, to see if i need supplements. I am not over or under weight, I have not got sick or tired or stressed out lately. So I just eat healthy foods.
5 fruits per day
3 vegetable servings
meal containing beans or grains for lunch and dinner.
I am sure when I am older I may have to. But for I am good.
I take only one, which is iodine from time to time. Mostly because I don't like most edible seaweeds, which is a principle vegan source of this.
Vitamin B12 I have in fortified soya milk. One could pick this up from unwashed plant foods, but naturally, there are a lot of other advantages to having your food clean. So taking it in this way makes sense.
That's it really. In a natural sense, the vegan diet is a complete one. I just refuse to eat certain things, and wash my food thoroughly! :)
I do, but not because I'm a vegan - I tale a calcium supplement because I take a prescription drug which has a possible side effect of weakening bones; as I'm a 55 year old woman this is something to be avoided if possible.
I took B12 for a short while after I first went vegan (from vegetarian) 12 years ago, but haven't taken it since and have never suffered any ill effects from not taking it.
I do - iron and vitamin E...but it's not b/c I follow a vegan diet.
I was taking those before I made the lifestyle change.
I've always struggled with low iron (even when I ate meat) and I take the vitamin E for good measures.
:-)
No. However, I do eat vegan fortified foods.
I take B12 Dots

My soymilk (Silk Plus Omega 3 DHA) is fortified with a vegetarian source of omega 3 and many other nutrients.
no i don't need to because everything i need is in vegetables and fruits and other non-meat things lol
Nope, no pills for me. But some of the foods I eat (soy milk, nutritional yeast) are fortified.
I don't right now, but I do from time to time. When I feel like it, I take a multivitamin. Except that I use it as part of my diet, i.e., on food, you could consider flax seed oil a supplement.
When I am feeling under the weather, I take either herbal remedies or homeopathic remedies, which, according to the FDA are supplements.
