I say ''erm..eggs, yogurt, beans, pulses, nuts, soya milk and soya beans, hummus...''
LOL! :-)
Answers: It's annoying when people ask me because I hear this a lot!

Most people know by now so they don't ask me anymore. But sometimes when someone asks me that, I answer, then I ask them where they get their fiber and vitamin C. I also ask them if they know how much protein is recommended daily. Most people don't even know and they will shut up.
Don't forget TVP and powdered vegetable protein. Tastes great in oatmeal.
ALL THE FREAKIN TIME!
My reply is "where do you think" and then they end up answering their own question.
The worst is when they say, "oh, but you'll be sick if you don't eat meat"! erm,, not really!
I know! This annoying girl at my school, goes, OMG! You're a vegetarian? Ain't dat unhealthy for ya? What about protein? Thats not healthy for ya. My dad won't let me be a vegetarian (like she even tried) because he says we need protein. He should know because he teaches gym class.
Well I think her dad should learn something because he coaches our volleyball team and I'm one of the best players!
Heheh so right it happens with me too bec i am Vegetarian, and they don't forget to shoot this question.
either they really worried about us or they really are anxious
well whatever i just say the same like you.
As a general rule, my friends don't .Some people do ask but it is more out of curiosity than harassment so I enjoy telling them. I am not so arrogant as to expect people who have not even heard the term vegetarian much less know what it means to know automatically what it is. So what should I be annoyed if they ask? And the fact that I don't announce "I am vegetarian" after each sentence seems to save me from such issues.
All the time. I reply by asking them how many grams of protein they try to have in a day. A lot of non-vegetarians eat way too mch protein, and don't really know how much they need. There is protein in almost every food. Vegans need to watch iron and calcium more than protein.
I don't drink milk, it supports the veal industry and female cows who are used for their milk are abused. I drink soy milk.
But anyway, yes I do get asked that but I take vitamins and eat beans and nuts, which are both good sources of protein.
Every once and while someone will figure out I'm a vegetarian and ask me that. I don't get annoyed, some people just don't know where to get protein besides meat. There is nothing wrong with questions as long as they are respectful and not asked to belittle, insult, etc my beliefs.
More important would be where you get your B12 from I think...
