Are there any groups or cultures that are strictly vegetarian?!

Question: I'm doing a group presentation and I need to have at least one example of a group/culture that are strictly vegetarian. It also needs to be a modern group/culture.

Not the Indians or any tribal groups; should be modern and current. Thank you for your help! I appreciate all answers.

Jains are vegetarians.

Some of the hindu castes are also vegetarian.

Seventh Day Adventists and Jains are both strictly vegetarian.

Vegetarianism is also extremely important and prominent in Hinduism. "There are three main reasons for this: the principle of nonviolence (ahimsa) applied to animals; the intention to offer only "pure" (vegetarian) food to a deity and then to receive it back as prasad; and the conviction that non-vegetarian food is detrimental for the mind and for spiritual development. Nonviolence is a common concern of all the vegetarian traditions in Hinduism; the other two aspects are relevant for those who follow special spiritual paths." - Wikipedia

Buddhism promotes vegetarianism, however many Western Buddhists eat meat.

There are exceptions to every rule and rule-breakers in every group.

id PETA counts then you could use that. i'm sure almost all members are veg*ns. same with the ALF (animal liberation front)

There is also a vegetarian (maybe vegan) settlement in Israel. I forgot the name but you can look it up.

In addition to that last poster...In Israel there is a group of Black Americans that migrated there and are strict Vegan Jews.
