There are several types of VEGETARIANS:

Lacto-ovo- vegetarian

When most people think of vegetarians, they think of lacto-ovo-vegetarians. People who do not eat beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish or animal flesh of any kind, but do eat eggs and dairy products are lacto-ovo vegetarians (“lacto” comes from the Latin for milk, and “ovo” for egg).
Lacto-vegetarian is used to describe a vegetarian who does not eat eggs, but does eat dairy products.

Ovo-vegetarian refers to people who do not eat meat or dairy products but do eat eggs.

Vegan

Vegans do not eat meat of any kind and also do not eat eggs, dairy products, or processed foods containing these or other animal-derived ingredients such as gelatin. Many vegans also refrain from eating foods that are made using animal products that may not contain animal products in the finished process, such as sugar and some wines. There is some debate as to whether certain foods, such as honey, fit into a vegan diet.

Other diets closely linked to the veggie diet include:

Pescatarian (also spelled pescetarian)

The word “pescatarian” is occasionally used to describe those who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish. Although the word is not commonly used, more and more people are adopting this kind of diet, usually for health reasons or as a stepping stone to a fully vegetarian diet.

As you can see, it takes more than eating meat once in a while and not eating fish or cheese once a year. I am also a teenager and had the same eating pattern: " don't eat any meat, except chicken, but then maybe only 2 a year no more then 4 times, and I like cheese, but any other kind of meat makes me gag, it just grosses me out " and became vegetarian. You can choose from the list of vegetarians above, that you want to become, but it is important to research the nutritional requirements.

The vegetarian can be a healthy option, as it reduces fat intake and lowers cholestrol. However, you have to ensure that you eat a variety of fruits and vegetables, to get all the vitamins and minerals from your foods. To do this, you have to exercise regularly, and use the vegetarian diet pyramid: http://www.oldwayspt.org/vegetarian_pyra...

These are a list of links you can use to research the lifestyle and diet requirements.

Vegetarian/vegan diets, not only disclude meat and fish, but other animal cruelty products. Here is a list of some possible options that you can get from the supermarket. These products are vegan and vegetarian:

  • your a half and halfer if that is even a word so in a way yes but in a another way no

No a vegetarian does not eat any meat, and this includes fish. Since you eat chicken occasioanlly you are not a vegetarian.

Vegans do not eat meat or any animal by product such as milk, cheese, honey, eggs, etc.

No. Chicken IS meat. If you eat it, even if it's infrequently, you're an omnivore. There are different types of vegetarians but basically the thing we have in common (the least common denominator) is that we do not eat meat (and chicken and fish ARE meat).

it is ok to eat meat, but ur not a true veggie
    point blank.

Then just eat what you like and call your self what you want a vegetarian or not. Your choice but it sounds to me like you hate most meats which is perfectly fine because the official definition is:
person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.

Why do you need or want to classify yourself as anything? Vegetarian or non-vegetarian... etc?

I would classify you as a "picky-eater" since meat makes you gag and grosses you out.

Since you do eat meat, even though it's on a rare occasion, you aren't a vegetarian.

    not a veger

If you are going to be a vegetarian research it. You have the means at your fingertips.

Not trying to sound callas or mean but honest to goodness if you want to eat vege then you need to know how to do it the right way and you need to do your own research and no go by what people here on answers says.

    well,
your not "really a vegetarian" because they dont eat meat and you eat chicken..if you didnt eat chicken ya you probably would be a vegetarian...if you are going to be a vegetarian you need to consult a doctor
    =] hope it helped

Well u just said you ate chicken, so i would say no your not.

i don't think that eating cheese will make u a non veg because aren't u a non veg if u eat something from a living thing but the chicken definitely makes u a non veg. vegetarians don't eat ANY living animals and some don't even eat things from living animals (like milk, cheese, etc.)

I mean, you are relatively close, but you aren't a vegetarian if you eat any form of meat, no matter how few and far between.

You are primarily a vegetarian though technically still an omnivore. You can be classified more exactly as a pollotarian someone who only eats vegetarian exempt the occasional fowl.

Take heart though you have made tremendous steps in the right direction. You have helped not only your health and the environment out a lot but you have help to alleviate much suffering.

Don't let anyone tell you different but you should feel proud of this fact. The truth is unfortunately many vegetarians and vegans alienate those who are sympathizing with their ideals simply because thy are being too hard nosed.

On behalf of the vegan and vegetarian community I'd personally like to welcome you.

    Many Blessings : )

Edit: Sounds like you have not eaten chicken for a while anyways. I'd say until you eat chicken again you are a vegetarian, that is if your intention is leaning towards not eatting it again.

    You're still considered a meat-eater.
The only way you can be a vegetarian is if you cut out all meat, including chicken.

if you haven't eaten any chicken or fish or any other animal in the last year then it could be said you have been a vegetarian for a year, some cheeses are vegetarian.
it could also depend on whether you have eaten things with gelatin or other animal by-products like that.
if you would like to be a vegetarian you are on the way towards it, you can get there quite easy by not eating your chicken!
    hope this helped???

I don't think you qualify as a vegetarian. A basic definition of a vegetarian is somebody who doesn't eat any kind of meat. Many eat fish though. Hmm... a vegetarian doesn't eat meat from mammles and birds.

Depends what vegetarian you want to be if you want to be a pure vegetarian not eat eggs etc but you eat chicken which makes you non vegetarian but you do not eat other meats so well it kind of makes you non vegetarian pure vegetarians do not eat anything which contains anything meat like eggs gelatin etc but some vegetarians dont mind to eat eggs fish etc but do not eat other meat .

Well, your almost a vegetarian!!! To become a full vegetarian you need to stop eating chicken and eat veggies and fruits!!!!
I hope my information helped!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I had a girlfriend who went in for a physical. One of the questions the doctor asked was, "Do you drink?" Her reply, "Sometimes I have A drink at the Christmas party.

The doctor check the box marked "social drinker." She blew a gasket at the doctor.

Having a single drink once a year at a Christmas party does not make one a "social drinker."

Sounds like you are mostly a vegitarian. Eating chicken twice a year does not make you a true omnivore in my book, anymore than someone who has one-two drinks a year at a Christmas party makes them a "social drinker."

Your a vegetarian who rarely eats a bit of chicken. Does it really matter what your "lable is?" Just be yourself, and be happy in your life.
