If you poured cow's milk in a bowl, would an adult dog or cat drink it?!

Question: Well I do believe adult dogs and cats would not be able to digest any large quantities of milk because of the absence of lactase enzymes. Basically, they would get stomach cramps from the fermentation of lactose in their digestive tract as do lactose-intolerant humans. But I'm sure it's fine for kittens and puppies. They seem to relish it (well puppies do, kittens not as much).

Most likely... But why would you? They might get sick

i think a cat will

They would drink it because they don't know it will probably make them sick. Cow's milk is for baby cows and not for baby people or cats or dogs or...or...or...

The Muse

It wouldn't make them sick. That's just ridiculous. Dogs maybe. But not cats. My cat'll lick my icecream a lot and she never gets sick. Now, if you didn't feed them milk all the time, it would make them sick as their diets aren't used to it. But if you fed them milk from the time they were young, then no it souldn't make them sick because their bodies are adapted to it from suckling.

i know a cat would,not sure about a dog.

Most dogs, some cats. My cat wouldn't touch the stuff.

Most cats are lactose intolerant.

Yes, they would both drink it.

Trouble is, cows milk is designed for calfs, not dogs and cats.

Dogs and cats are lactose intolerant and cows milk will probably give them diarrhoea.

There are special formulated milks on the market for dogs and cats.

.

Some would, some wouldn't. Doesn't mean it's natural or in some way justify human consumption of cow's milk. My dog would drink Kool-Aid if I'd let him.
