I always thought bout tht....ppl start answering dang it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Your question is retarded.
Turns out you do not have "common sense".

Some people don't eat anything that involves killing the entire plant. I belive that they are called fruitarians but i'm not positive.

There actually are a group called "fruitarians" who only eat fruit that falls naturally, believing that it's the only food that can be eaten non-violently.

It's a bit extreme for my tastes, but more power to 'em!

It's either a animal that screams and cries, or a plant that does not move or make a sound. You have to eat plants to survive, but you don't have to eat meat to survive.

Common Sense - No, not really!

You need to get a REAL life. A stupid turnip doesn't feel any pain. I'm not gonna starve my self for a carrot. Oh, for you I should say WHOLESOME carrots. This whole forum from you is like?

Q: Got any recipes?
A: WHOLESOME CARROTS.

Q: What is a good lunch?
A: WHOLESOME CARROTS.

Q: What should I eat?
A: WHOLESOME CARROTS.

WELL I HAVE SOME ADVICE FOR YOU MY BUDDY TAKE A WHOLESOME CARROT AND SHOVE IT UP UR ***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

I draw the line at sentience. It's not wrong to eat plants for the same reason that it is not wrong to kill bacteria. Every time I brush my teeth, I kill thousands of bacteria, yet I see nothing wrong with doing so.

The distinguishing characteristic between animals and plants is that animals are conscious beings capable of feeling pain and suffering. Animals are capable of feeling happiness, joy, sorrow, and a desire to live. Plants and bacteria don't have a brain, a central nervous system, or nerve endings. They don't show any behavior which would indicate that they possess consciousness.

Even if a person's main goal in life is to minimize the number of plants which are killed, he/she should still become a vegetarian. Plants have to be fed to the livestock, and meat production is extremely inefficient. Only a small fraction of the food which is eaten by animals is converted into meat for human consumption. So, by eating meat, not only do we cause animal death and suffering -- we also end up killing many more plants than we would if we ate a vegetarian diet.

No.

'Real' vegans, as defined by you, would just lie down and die. Sorry, we won't oblige.

If you are concerned about eating foods harvested thus, then follow your conscience and don't do it. But please stop fretting about other people's diets and 'morals'.

Alison G, he pinched the 'carrots' joke - I know, hilarious - from Flexitarian Vegan, who has been regurgitating it for several months. As I've observed before, either they're the same person or it's the biggest crush/most pathetic case of hero worship you've ever seen.

Lol before you can be concerned about other living things, you have to tend to your own needs first. I don't think it's feasible for humans to live without eating something that is already alive (unless you want to only live off of junk food). I was always taught that it is less karma when you eat a vegetable or fruit than an animal, and I guess it makes sense.

My main point is that you're going to have to eat something alive in order to stay alive. Unless you want to die from a clogged up artery by eating too many Krispy Kream Donuts.
