becoming a vegetarian is one of the hardest things ive ever done
the way i did it was:
1.stop eating red meats you can still eat chicken and fish eat lots of tofu and foods with iron and protiens
2.after about two more weeks stop eating chicken and you can still eat fish
3.after 2 more weeks stop eating fish and eat plenty of soy products
you will get cravings every now and then but it goes away after 2 months...meat doesnt even seem appealing to me anymore
also watching tthis video helped me http://www.goveg.com/factoryFarming.asp
and there are also videos on peta.com and peta2.com
i hope this helps and i hope you become a veg head! :)
What do you mean for your health? You can be perfectly healthy with eating meat! It is good for you!
Peta.com
explains it all.
you need not cut out meat entirely for your health. cutting back on red meat and pork would be a good idea, but eating chicken and fish and dairy products are good. I would suggest you educate yourself before you become a vegetarian, there are nutrients that you need, and can get as a vegan, but you have to know how to get them and how much. you need to make sure you are getting complete proteins, calcium, vitamin b12, and other nutrients
I had always been a meat lover. I never even thought about becoming a vegetarian...but then one day while surfing the web, I found an animal cruelty video. I think they've taken care of all that stuff and are treating the animals nicely...but I don't know that for sure. It's impossible for me to eat meat now. It's just yucky.
I went and visited a pig farm. As soon as I saw the suffering first hand, i never looked back.
I don't know why so many people insist that meat is bad for you! Meat is good for you, just not a lot of it. Like Christy said, cut down on red meat and pork, too much of that can do harm, but I wouldn't eliminate it if you enjoy it.
I have a great aunt, she's 89 this year. She eats meat, alot. And guess what. She's in better shape than me! She works out, gardens, well, all that stuff! There's no reason to think meat is bad for you, but I would cut down on the red meat. Watch how many thumbs down I'm about to get.
I have a friend who is a dietitian, and she says a good balance of fruits, vegetables, and a little meat is good for you (don't worry, she's 45 now, a neighbor friend you could say)
