Vegan chips like Doritos?!

Question: I just found out that Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos are vegan! Just wondering if anyone's tried them and what you thought of the taste? Also, are there any vegan chips similar to the original Doritos?

Oh yeah, I tried them as soon as I found out the mythical Canadian vegan Doritos were now being sold in the US (Canada has had two vegan flavors for some time, the sweet chili ones and some kind of tandoori flavor.) They're pretty good which means a won't be buying a big bag to keep in the house! I really haven't eaten any of the other Doritos for years and I don't know of any vegan nacho "cheese" chips.

What I wish I could find a vegan version of is sour cream and onion potato chips. Except that I don't wish it. I do better without temptation!

Try shopping at Wild Oats or similar health food stores...or make your own with flour or corn torillas cut into triangles and chili spices...fried or baked in the oven...

I tried them a while back when I was omni. From what I remember they were pretty good. I think the plain Doritos are vegan too. Oh yeah I bake my Lebanese bread in the oven so it's all crunchy, then brake it up into "chips".... great for dippin in salsa or hummus.

i thought the taste was above average if u like spicy food

you can make your own chips like dorito's by using vegan lasagne sheets soaked in hot water until soft enough to cut with scissors. Cut into triangles and place on a baking tray and into a hot oven (220 deg C) and watch carefully.

They crisp up and are fabulous with a little salt on or a little dried soup powder or seasoning.

cheap too!

Tried them ya, but they burned my mouth so much, I didn't even get to taste the flava lmao -- maybe I shouldn't have put that hot sauce on it hmmm --.

Here is a list of other vegan goods and snacks that you can get at your local grocery:
