Alright, first of all, do you want to go vegetarian or vegan? Vegetarian's exclude all flesh from their diets, including fish, vegans exclude that and every animal product: milk, cheese, etc.

On www.meat.org, try clicking on "Vegetarian 101", as it will bring you to www.goveg.com. GoVeg has amazing videos, recipies and you can request a free vegetarian starter kit, which will also give you additional recipies and tips, along with the names, quotes and pics of celebs who are veg*n.

For recipies, (if you like avocado!), try checking out www.avocado.com. They have a lot of recipies, I think somewhere in the thousands. Many of them are already vegetarian, but you can adapt many of your favourite recipies by just excluding the meat or using meat substitutes.

Okay, people I know will immeadiatly suggest tofu. Do *not* try tofu unless you know how to prepare it correctly!! When I first went vegetarian, I of course went out and bought a large package of tofu, thinking this is of course what veg*ns eat! I brought it home, opened it up and took a bite. Wrong, wrong, wrong. It was so gross I almost gagged and it practically turned me off tofu forever. You have to place the block of tofu between 2 layers of paper towels and set a heavy pan or dutch oven on top of the paper-towel covered tofu for a half an hour to an hour, so it can drain. Then I suggest stir frying it with some veggies.

I have many veg*n friends who swear on the stuff, but I'm still a little weary about it, because of my own stupid mistake.

Another popular misconception about us vegs' is that we don't eat junk food. Wrong! In fact, I know many vegs that eat waaay more crap food than meat-eaters! Some people go veg, and have no idea what to eat, so they pig out on junk food. Gross. But there is new vegan Doritos! Yum! ;]

If you're going to a dinner part or some such event, don't depend on them having a veg*n selection. Make sure to call ahead and specifically tell them what you will and won't eat, or eat ahead. A last resort is to have something waiting in the car, so you're not starving on the ride home.

Ok, I could go on and on, but I'll stop now as this is getting to be an essay.

Good luck! =)

Salad.
Salad.
Salad.
Green.
Green.
Greeeennnn!!

Make ratatuoille, with some toasted french bread it taste AMAZING!

I would still eat eggs and milk. Preferably goats milk.

Me eat vegetarians. RRRAAAAAW

dont eat meat! hahaaa

thats the only tip i know...

if u go full on VEGAN then you cant even eat anything with anything that has to do with an animal.. like diary, ect.

Animals would die from starvation if we didnt eat them anyway....
It's the circle of life..... we are actually helping them out =)

here's a tip, don't. imagine what they do to those poor vegetables, a hole..

vegetarians are not just salads!

we can eat a lot of diverse foods!

invest in a large vegetarian cookbook from like b&n.

If you live near a major city like New York, L.A., its very easy to find veg cuisine in restaurants.

Well to start don't eat meat... try eggs peanuts and veggies and fruits

I JUST DECIDED TO GO vEGETARIAN YESTERDAY,DID YOU SEE THIS VIDEO??this is what caused me to be a vegetarian http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com,im very interested in seeing the answers and good luck!

eat proteins!! Eat lots of broccoli too, it fights cancer and prevents it. Salads are good, and so are carrots for eyesight.

Eat lots of wholesome carrots.

anything that is grew from the ground lol!

Carbs....pasta, rice, etc.
Fish...don't go completely vegetarian..you need some protein.
Veggies...lots and lots of veggies.
Dairy Products...it doesn't hurt to eat milk and cheese..the animals aren't dying when you milk them so yeah.

Lots of beans for protein, and lots of greens.

That's about it.

Eat plenty of beans, nuts, fruit and veg etc
Soya mince is a reasonable and cheap alternative to meat mince.
If you're not vegan quorn is another alternative which you can use in place of chicken.
Try eating whole grain foods (brown bread, rice, pasta etc) instead.
Accept that there are times when you might slip...forgive yourself and move on...take each day at a time.
Never assume if you go anywhere that there will be something you can eat...always be prepared!
Good luck!

good, there r lot of vegetarian recipes, check in search engine or a book, but u must balance u r diet by taking more proteins(soya, dal, milk)and fresh fruits.

soy is an amazing meat substitute :)

and if u fancy chicken salad i recommend you get Quarn Chicken fillets , You Cant tell the difference

yes, those videos are gross. I would try some veggie burgers (boca are my fave). they are good to keep on hand for a quick meal, and very yummy. You can eat a lot of foods you probably do now (think burritos, lasagna, enchiladas, etc.) just make sure they have no meat in them. As a snack, i love to cut up cucumbers and sprinkle lemon pepper on them. Its real good, and very healthy. Veggie sandwiches are also good. there is a lot you can do with just veggies. good luck to you

Don't you just love beanz on toast or tomatoes on toast ?

Well, there a snacky start and good luck to you. Have fun...x

its not hard at all to go vegetarian.
and we don't just eat salad, in fact i don't eat much vegetables at all.
but even meat-eaters should be eating vegetables not just vegetarians.
but eat something from every food group. you can find vegetarian food in all food stores and in most corner shops.
Also if your cooking and doing this from a recipe then use everything that same apart from the meat - replace this with something vegetarian.
oh and with sweets, make sure that the ones you eat don't have gelatin in them.

hi, try this link http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes/vegeta...

dont be daunted but there's over 37,000 recipes on there, just dont try them all at once! :) and good luck! :)x

Go to goveg.com. There is alot of great info for veggie newbies!

I have a very informative website. Feel free to check it out. The page titled “Eat Without Violence” should provide you with some useful information. Good Luck to you!
