Am I the only one that wonders why meat eaters come in and comment in this category?!

Question: I know that some are curious, or thinking of becoming veggies, but don't most seem to just make rude comments or talk about how much they love meat or hunting or anything non vegetarian? Do people really have so little to do with their time that they just want to sit around picking on people? And then they wonder why we get defensive.
I know that I'll get slammed by a lot of them for this question, which will only go to prove my point, but any thoughts from the regulars in here?

I wonder the same thing! Every now and then we'll see someone who is truly curious about our lifestyle and diet, but more often than not, they are trying to rile us up by pointing out "holes" in our lifestyle and dietary choice. (which, ironically, there are none because a lot of us made the choice based on our beliefs. we based our beliefs on our personal opinions and opinions can't be flawed - their OPINIONS).
Any-who...never do I see vegetarians in other F&D sections answering meat eaters saying, "I don't know. Eat vegetables" like they come over here and say "I don't know. Eat a steak".
They're just rude and need lives.

"I have to click on food & drink and THEN click on V& V to get to respond to our questions, and so do they, so it isn't random."

Maybe you do but I don't. The question shows up on the big list of all categories combined and again on the Food & Drink list. All you do is click on the question link. Report It

  • I've noticed a pattern. They come in, thinking that we act high and mighty to them, and that we look down our noses. However, the only way for us to do that is for them to act high and mighty and look down their noses at us in an attempt to provoke us.

    Doesn't work on me.

Anyway, I've seen a lot of their so called "rationalizations", and they really just serve to give me a good laugh. Honestly, has any of these trolls ever been to a logic class?

Not so hard to figure out when you remember than clicking on the Whole Food and Drink category has questions from every subsection in it. most of the time no one pays attention to what the category is.

It is too random! Don't be obtuse! Duh! Click on the MAIN CATEGORY of FOOD AND DRINK you duhmeister! You will see that every question being asked UNDER EVER SUBSECTION comes up!!!!!!! People randomly click on WHATEVER QUESTION APPEALS TO THEM, most don't look at the stupid subsection.

    Geez,

Because we know that you really secretly love weiners and sausage.

I have often thought about that and those that ask questions are trying to stir things up.
They come to answer in this category to put their point of view across. Though some give answers to stir things up as well.

anytime you have an issue or topic of discussion there will be those that have differing views. Especially when those two opposing view points cross over into each other. I think the meat eaters would not bother with the lettuce eaters if the lettuce eaters weren't so adament in trying to persuade everyone to follow their belief system. Have you ever heard a meat eater instigate a conversation about eating meat? Probably not. Usually comments by the meat eaters are in response to a vegetarian trying to convince others about the horrors of meat. Same theory with pro-choice and pro-life arguements. You never see a pro-choicer waving around signs that say kill babies. They may wave signs in response to pro-lifers but they do not initiate the conflict.

    Hi,
Yes I agree, I completely agree.

There's nothing wrong with vegetarianism, so why would anyone bash somebody for wanting to go veg? I dunno, it just seems so silly to me.

    Hollywood x

Hello" I wish I had the strength to become a vegetarian tried it and failed I suck. but tell you one thing you really have allot of gut to remain loyal to your vegetarian life style you will be looking allot younger as you age and live longer. Good for you

Peace, from a meat eating carnival some what plant eater lol

IDK, I guess they are just jealous because they want a section specifically for omnivores. But if there were a section for hte omnivores and not one for the vegetarians and vegans, would the veggies go and comment in their section ? It's only fair right ? -_-?

Even if omnivores comment in the VnV section, they aren't always negative. SOME of them actually contribute positive information ! They might know about the vegetarianism through a friend or relative, or might want to become one themselves !

Ive noticed it to, even when im simply looking for ways to get nutrition information. I just went vegan and i often feel like a freak within my meat eating family, but i dont understand why. Its more meat for them right?

Meat eater here...some people just fear or are intimidated by those who are different from them. Perhaps they're feeling a little guilty? Also in most cases, people pick on others because they feel inferior themselves.

bluesea is right and you are wrong...........your veggie question will post in food and drink general until it reaches the bottom of the page..........the only time I will answer is if the question has the words meat eater in it.......to me that means the question is directed to meat eaters and the asker wants answers from meat eaters..........if you don't want meat eaters to answer then reword your question and leave out the term meat eater............you say you get defensive ....well so do we when someone comes on here and tells us we are bad and immoral.............live and let live

I would think that if you people were as dedicated to your beliefs as you claim to be that the word meat would not even be brought up in a question

I know you intend to post in V and V but you missed my point and took it out of context............what blusea said is right.......when you post a question in v and v it does get posted in food and drink general first..........so that is why you are getting replies from meat people.............the question is seen by all before it goes to v and v
your saying that meat eaters come to v and v just to harrass you is a misplaced statement as the question gets posted in food and drink general for all to see

yes you do have some trolls who come to your section for the purpose of starting trouble......I will not deny that........
we have just as much right to defend our beliefs as you do
