Why does everybody hate PETA?!

Answers: Eating meat is wrong. I am an active PETA member and I don't see why they ruffle everyones feathers. We all know deep down in our hearts that meat is murder and is wrong. MeatEaters onlky get mad because they cannot handle the truth.

I have been an active member of peta for a while now, i think its great speaking up for poor defencless animals.
Meat eaters are terrible people, well most of them anyway. They are always bringing up the protein thing, and constantly annoying vegetarians and vegans etc. You can get protein from planty of other sources.
Just remeber meat eaters, your murdering animals, then eating them and there blood, now that is really sad.

Meat is needed to sustain a healthy life.
Yes, they do kill animals sometime inhumanely but eating meat is the natural way to go.

People are typically turned off by attitudes and perceptions. Whether they are true or false. Making accusations and assumptions as you did here "Meat-Eaters onlky get mad because they cannot handle the truth." Will only irritate people, by too simply categorizing and labeling them.
People will not look favorably upon comparison with national heroes, "and be as recognized as Gandhi! HA HA!"
One reason I stopped liking PETA was for reasons like this. it is all black and white, when in reality, life is full of colors, shades and all kinds of reasons, explanations. While I do not agree with eating meat, I will not go around as a vigilante and force my views on anyone.
Your purpose is meaningful and honest, but the psychology and philosophy behind it are mildly skewed.
your dang right...we should round up all the meat-eating animals too...cant they be sensitive to the lives of the non-meateating animals? its just plain cruel. (sarcasm may have been involved in that statement...maybe)
everyone hates PETA because they're extremists. They kill more animals than they save anyways. They treat their members worse than they treat animals...putting women out on the street in the nude, basicly using pornography and indeceny to advocate their cause. to reiterate my point that theyre extremists, i have a friend who was kicked out of PETA because he refused to take part in one of PETAs naked, meat-package-style protests because he felt it crossed the line...PETA booted him because he wasnt dedicated enough, even though he joined, wanting to help end animal cruelty...
basicly, the whole thing/organization goes way too far...it probably also doesnt help that they literaly value human life below the lives of animals
if god did not intend for us to eat animals , he wouldn't have made them from meat...
I'm a vegetarian, too, but PETA are a bunch of opportunistic liars.
For example, claiming that KFC and Burger King butcher live animals. I just found this out a few days ago actually - neither KFC or Burger King is involved with the death of a single animal. They buy their meat from third party sources.
because they support arson, domestic terrorists, and other illegal activities. oh yeah........the V.P. is diabetic, and takes insulin which contains animal products..........can you say hypocrite?

Because it is okay to eat meat and it is okay not to eat meat. I and most of us out here who eat meat really do not care whether you and the rest of PETA do or what you eat.
The trouble is that PETA is not trying to preach their way to convince us of our evil ways. They are trying to force their way on us through violence or any means possible. By burning down places, hurting people, hurting businesses and committing other acts of terrorism. That is a bad way to make friends.
But, even then most of us I would say 99.999999 percent of us still do not spend much time even thinking about PETA. I guess we just do not care, or maybe we are busy living life and getting on with making a living and eating a good steak.
You know they broke into a mink farm down by me about 15 or 20 years ago and released hundreds of minks that were bred in captivity. For weeks on end there were dead minks on the road! & People were finding starved minks all over too because it was winter and these were not used to being in the wild.
PETA and the ACLU are two of the worse domestic organizations we have in the country. Heh maybe i guess there are a lot more.
Since you asked and only because you asked, I'll share my opinion. PETA members tend to be both pretentious, arrogant and nosy. The worst part is that many of these individuals do not feel that they are actting out said behavior.
Not all PETA members act poorly, but it only takes a handful of bad apples to turn people away from the apple tree.
I don't hate PETA. They do use some tactics I don't agree with, but as long as they aren't hurting anyone that is their business. I am a vegetarian for health reasons. I don't think eating meat is wrong. My husband is a Poultry Plant Superintendent. He does not care for PETA, as you might imagine. (I have seen the video on the PETA site about the mistreatment of the animals, and the behavior of the processing employess was just ridiculous, they *should* be in lots of trouble for that...and my husband agrees.)
I think it is fine for the PETA folks to say the animal product industry is wrong, as long as they don't use the animal products. That would be hypocrisy. To give them credit, they do practice what preach.
I am new to this forum and look forward to getting more good information on Vegetarianism/Veganism, and I appreciate the differing view points.
i'M a 2 year vegetarian, and was considering to join PETa until I was informed that PETA is associated with ALF: Animal Liberation Front, which is considered by the FBI a teorrist group ! PETA hides it association with it, but the head of PETA in Virgina donates money to ALF.
Another reason for not joining, is the claims that some members of PETA acutally kill most of the animals, because they cannot find chelter for them. What is the point of stealing the animals from a farm, where they are being fed to have them starved and killed ?
I think instead of terrrising people, PETA needs to work out the twerks within their organization and then focus on having people who eat meat, treat animals with respect. I view animal rights as being the animals friend and not taking advantage of the animal ! For instance, Kosher Jews kill their animals in a slow painless maner, why can't other farmers do the same instead of harming and abusing the animal !?! This is what PETA and other animal right groupd need to focus on, before they go distroying labs and giving people a bad name because they wear fur !
Several members of PETA have been sued for animal cruelty in California and Virgina and for associating with ALF for teorrism actions. NOT ALL PETA MEMBERS ACT THIS CARELESS AND RECKLESS but the association should screen their members more carefully before they let them sign up and become a member of their organization. Yes anyone can get a PETA shirt off the street or internet, but if lawful actions need to be taken, PETA should have a record of its members so that they can firmly say that the inviduals are or are not official members. If they dont', then anyone can slander the PETA name and hence increase the hate !

Why? Because PETA has successfully turned their organization into an extremist holier than thou religion.
I've been a vegan for a long time and I'm dedicated to my beliefs. PETA is not a part of that for me. PETA is a bunch of self-righteous, prissy, arrogant persons who can't solve problems in their own lives so they attach themselves to the problem of animal abuse so that they can pretend they are actually doing something with their lives.
PS: PETA would not let the majority of its members pose for their nudie calender because they are not famous enough, pretty enough, or important enough. Can we say s-h-a-l-l-o-w.
