What are some good ways to prepare FriChick for human consumption?!

Question: My buddy sent me a can from California and I am nervous as all heck.

I've always wondered the same thing. It comes in a gravy-type sauce right? You could always drain the gravy and cut it into pieces, then marinate it and saute it with some oil until browned. Use on top of salads, in casserole, or just plain.

What is this stuff?

Here's a recipe, if you like curry flavor

Worthington FriChick Potato & Peas Curry

1 can FriChick
3 medium potatoes
1 cup peas
1 9 oz. jar of Aunty Saro’s Curry Sauce
1 cup water
Drain juice from FriChick and cut into one-inch pieces. Save juice for use in rice. Peel potatoes and cut into 1 inch pieces. In a saucepan add curry sauce and water and stir together. Layer the potatoes and peas in the sauce and cook (covered) for 10-15 minutes or until potatoes are almost done. Add FriChick, mix thoroughly and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.

And here's an entry on a message board

"That's funny, my fairly-omni daughter LOVES FriChick but my 2 veggie kids don't care for it.

It has an interesting smell to me but I'm more sensetive that way (can't even have cat or dogfood of any sort near the kitchen, ever!) , but we usually drain it WELL and bread and fry it (yes, healthy, isn't it?) or 'disguise' it in "chicken" soup or salad."

Well to be honest, probably the same way you normally cook chicken. I hear alot of restaurants out there use it instead of real chicken since it's cheaper, and religious people use it when there on lent.

Maybe in a stir fry?

patrick, just because jacky sent you the frichick, it doesn't mean you actually have to eat it. It's best prepared by dumping the contents into the trash and recycling the can ;)
