Fakin' Bacon (tempeh or however it's spelled)?!

Question: So I'm pan frying some "Fakin' Bacon". Anyone ever try it? Like it? Hate it? What should I put with? Might try to make a BLT.

And if I don't cook all of it, how long should the open package keep?

I am vegetarian, and am actually a big fan of "fakin". Its really not that good on its own though. If you are frying it cut it up into slightly smaller pieces, and fry it with some vegetables (i suggest small diced potatos and onions etc) and add some spices (salt, pepper, etc). That way it could be eaten on its own, or with eggs or something.

Fakin also makes great BLTs/ breakfast burritos!! (if you are making some sort of sandwich, or are planning on crumbling it on a salad, and dont want to bother frying it, just stick a couple strips on a plate and put it in in the microwave for about 90 seconds and it will have the same effect)

If you keep it in the freezer, it will last a really long time (since it does not actually contain any meat products). Just make sure you wrap it in press-and-seal or something airtight so it doesnt get freezer burnt. If you store it that way, itll keep for a couple months or so.

I've never had 'fakin' bacon, but I have had other forms of tempeh bacon & I love it. BLTs are good, so is plain ketchup.
You should probably aim to use up the rest within a couple of days (if you're like me it never lasts more than a couple of hours because I love it!)
