Are Hospitality Mints vegan?!

Question: You know those soft mints that many restaurants give you after dinner? ...the ones that usually say "Thank You" on the wrapper!? They are made my Hospitality Mints... and I simply can not find the ingredients anywhere. If any of you know if they are vegan or what they are made out of, let me know!

No, they're not. There are several kinds, all with varying ingredients. However, seemingly all have at least one of the following: gelatin, sugar, and casein (or some other milk ingredient... some even have cream).

Gelatin and casein are obvious (ie: bone marrow and milk product). Sugar is an iffy one... Most low-grade sugar uses bone char and other non-vegetarian/vegan things in the refining process, so is technically not vegetarian/vegan (even though pure sugar itself is).

I'd be willing to bet the ingredients are sugar, water and mint - perhaps with some food coloring. Is that vegan?

chances are they are vegan but i wouldnt eat them if ur not sure!.....those kind of things are always hard to find out about....just take mints with u that u know u can eat....u will feel better about it i bet

Candy is usually not made with meat.

They are not vegan!! I did a search and it showed up that Hospitality Mints that say "Thank You" are called Buttermints by the website.

Here's the link to their non-vegan candies: http://www.hospitalitymints.com/Products...
