Isnt there a huge difference between plants and animals or am I just a dummy?!
Answers: If I aint no dummy about this then why do a lots of peoples compare the two so much like they are the same? A "friend" of mine told me that I was cruel to plants because I don't eat animals. I am like what?
Yes, there's a big difference, and it's your "friend" who's the dummy. A lot of anti-veggie folks will whine, "What about the plaaaaannntts" to justify their eating meat, and this person has certainly twisted it. But eating meat causes even more plants to die, as the animals have to eat something, don't they?
As plants are fixed in place, they cannot escape predation. They make their own food, unlike animals. They do not have a central nervous system, so they cannot feel pain, fear, or anguish. If your friend doesn't know the difference between a cow and a carrot, he might do well with a few remedial biology classes.
wow there is a big difference lmao
No, it's your friend who is the dummy.
The friend is trying to get you to stop being a vegetarian. Yes, there is a huge difference between plants and animals. Plants don't move around too much. Plants, through photosynthesis make their own food. Animals don't.
Plants are different from animals in that they are static and moreover, they prepare their food by themselves, which is not the case with animals. Moreover, they donot have any fluid (like blood that we have)that circultates through its body. It has xylem vessels that carry water and phloem vessels that carry food (sap).
If you are asking me whether they get hurt if you pluck a fruit of it, I have no idea. You either have to feed yourself on animals or you have to eat the plant food. Cannot stay away from both. For a non-vegitarian, he would see the blood, the animal winces when twisted and will shout like hell for its life. We can understand that we are hurting them, even though we cannot communicate with it and vice versa. But as far as I can see, there is no wrong in being vegan.
Friends say so to justify themselves that if what they are doing is wrong, what you're doing is also wrong and that it would be right to have food of one's choice. But my friend, two wrongs donot make a right.
The similarity being, both are raised specifically for consumption.
Cruelty to plants though, that is funny.
whf? lol if we didnt eat plants or animals then what the hell would we eat? and to answer your question there is a big difference between plants and animals. plants dont bleed, they have no heart or brain and no fear
There are actually many similarities between the two. But both have very distinct qualities that define one or the other.
I don't know your friend or his motives. He may simply believe in something different, not something necessarily wrong. But so far science has proven the plants cannot feel pain. At least in the manner that animals feel pain. Any experiments to prove the contrary have so far been unsuccessful or at the very best inconclusive. Tell your friend as that at least as far as science is concerned, he is wrong. You cannot be cruel to something that cannot feel.
