What do you miss most about eating meat?!

Question: Man, when I smell bacon, I go into a frenzy. My wife cooks bacon all the time, I think just to mess with me. I miss eating bacon the most. What about you?

I really don't miss it when i think of what the animals had to go through. But i do miss bacon. Especially in the wendy's ceasar side salads. oh man...

I really don't miss it.. i'm sorry.. the smell of meat cooking really just gets me more sick then anything.. and i did cook a lot of Vegan Bacon before.. but i really don't crave it.. however i did step down from meat almost 1 1/2 ago.. i didn't go "cold-turkey" i guess you could say.. it took me a while, but it was the best way i knew how to do it..

Always being able to find something on the menu when I go out! Seriously, my friends always make me pick the restaurant because there are so many places with no veg options.

I also miss the meat balls my grandmother used to make. I think she mixed ground beef and ground pork-she didn't have a written recipe, so nobody knows. I actually have dreams about them.

The convenience of fast food. It's easy to be a lazy omnivore.

well, i have never had meat in my whole entire life. I guess i can't really miss something if i haven't tried it. But my friend, who recently turned into a vegeterian now says she misses hot dogs. I just think meat looks gross... no offense! :D

I don't miss anything really, and the smell of bacon makes me sick.

It's the smell of some of of the meats, like you said. I don't really want to EAT them, the smell is better than the taste, but it is tempting at times. Hopefully, it will eventually not bother me. I still cook for my husband and kids, so unless I can get everyone to give it up I will deal with it.

I'M glad your strong enough to handle your temptations haha I miss umm ........ barbeque chicken with blue cheese dressing lol TT_TT when I first started being a vegetarian, lacto-ovo, I ate the bbq chicken, after not having any meat or fish for a month. It didn't taste the same, in fact I hated it ! the smell was tempting but the taste wasn't, I acutally regreted eating it !

I'm not sure if the same will happen to you, but it's not worth quiting because it smells good and looks good lol. Esp if its Baccon haha hate ewe TT_TT

I don't miss eating it. I don't think we should kill or eat animals. I know it's natural but there are many other things we can eat to get our protein. It would be like someone killing us and eating us. So I don't miss eating meat.

I miss clam chowder. My dad makes really good ribs that I miss as well.

But even though I miss the flavor of those, I could never eat them again because I could not justify the death of innocent animals. Missing the taste is just a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I do wish there was a good vegetarian "clam" chowder, though.

Heyy! I live in NY too..I havent found any good vegan restauraunts?! When I smell bacon It smells good but I know that poor pig didnt deserve the treatment he went thru. I dont miss anything else really the smells get to me sometimes tho!

Nothing.

I don't know really I guess I will miss chicken period. But, I am willing to give it up for the sake of the poor and innocent bird who suffered for omnivors.

ps im a vegan and i love it to know i am saving animal lives.

I don't miss meat at all. What I miss is the ability to go to any restaurant, look at a menu, and order anything on it. When I'm among omnivores, and I have little choice of where to go to eat, I miss being able to eat without having to go through negotiations. Sometimes you have to channel Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally..." to get something to eat.

But being vegan is the right thing to do, so I endure the occasional inconvenience.

Awww....I'm still among the meat eaters, so I can't say I know how you feel. If it's a health issue, have you tried turkey bacon? Some say it's not bad....
Also, tenderloin is very lean so I would think you could indulge once in a while...
Ground round too....
Good luck!
