I heard soy isnt good for woman it increases estrogen. Is this true?!

Question: There is a lot of misinformation about soy lately. The only way soy is going to have any harmful effect on anybody is if the person has an allergy. There's no solid evidence that it makes any difference if it's fermented or not, or if it's geneticallly modified or not. Those are just variations on the myth.

It's just another diet fad. A years ago, I kept hearing about how bad "carbs" are for you. Nobody seems to talk about that anymore. In a few more years they'll forget about the soy myth and go on to something else.

I'm married to a dietitian and I can say for a fact that dietitians are not warning their patients about the so-call "dangers of soy." There is no reason to have any concern unless you have an allergy to soy.

un fermented soy like soy milk and tofu contain phyto-estrogen which is not good for you. fermented soy products like tempe are ok.

nooooooooooo

A lot of the soy-is-bad stuff comes from antisoy and antiveg organizations. Soy has been shown to help menopausal women, actually. It's overly processed soy and GMO soy that are bad for you, so you'll want to buy organic whenever possible.

The same folks who freak out about soy ignore all the hormones in meat and dairy that are far more powerful than the phytoestrogens in plant foods.
