Wow. People need to do some research before they answer a serious question like this. Yes, Mars candy, which is the company that makes M&M's does unnecessary animal tests. Therefore, they do kill animals.

absolutley nothing, the only thing they do is make them sick, because theyre chocolate and chocolate isnt good for animals.

chocolate isnt good for dogs..it can kill them.

Don't know, let me know when you find out. How interesting!

feed em chocolate

the m's that get printed on top of the candy are from animals that are skinned alive. If they skinned them whilst dead the text on the candy would be black

chocolate gives dogs epilepsy. dont know about other animals though.

chocolate is poisonous to animals such as dogs and cats don't feed them any.

Chocolate is like poison to animals...at least that's what I hear. My dog ate a whole batch of chocolate chip cookies when I wasn't home and she's fine

i checked the website, although it seems very reliable, i've never heard anything about harmful M&Ms :)

I don't know what the nuts at PETA have against M&M's, but common sense would be that they could be a choking hazard to small animals, too many could make them fat and chocolate is bad for dogs.

The processing of M&M's introduces fats that can not be digested so it clogs up the digestive system of birds. As a result birds that eat M&M's die a slow and painful death.

It's also VERY bad for pretty much any animal and really these candies should be banned.

They contain no chocolate! It's a mix of cocao powder and vegetable oils.

Also, the colouring used in these candies causes horrible cancers and diseases in many animals.

Like most American products it should be avoided.

Mars makes M&Ms and they are accused of cruelty against animals. Pamela Anderson got involved. It's all a bit ridic, to be honest, and the web doesn't really explain anything expect in blog-speak.

This is the problem with PETA. Dogs get sick from chocolate so PETA attacks the chocolate industry.

Well chocolate apparently can kill dogs....I say apparently, because all 3 of my dogs have stolen chocolate in the past and no harm has come to them....during his last theft, my Chocolate lab (oh the irony lol) ate:
7 Cadbury's Caramels
3 Snickers bars
I chocolate cream
I small cake
1 twix...including all of the wrappers.
The only side effect he had was throwing up the wrappers..other than that, he's fine (just fat)

Although I don't have the answer, I don't think that the people are understanding your question.
I think what you are saying is that the M&M company harms animals for their products...

It is rather obvious that chocolate does harm animals when you feed it to them...

But as for the chocolate companies... I would say that their use of milk may cause harm on the animals they have. I don't know though.

If the PETA website did not explain how M&Ms harm animals doesn't it convince you that their information might be suspect?

Mars, the company that makes M&Ms, does very cruel animal experiments on rats and mice.

"Mars recently funded a deadly experiment on rats to determine the effects of chocolate ingredients on their blood vessels. Experimenters force-fed the rats by shoving plastic tubes down their throats and then cut open the rats' legs to expose an artery, which was clamped shut to block blood flow. After the experiment, the animals were killed. Mars has also funded cruel experiments in which mice were fed a candy ingredient and forced to swim in a pool of a water mixed with white paint. The mice had to find a hidden platform to avoid drowning, only to be killed and dissected later on. In yet another experiment supported by Mars, rats were fed cocoa and anesthetized with carbon dioxide so that their blood could be collected by injecting a needle directly into their hearts, which can lead to internal bleeding and other deadly complications."

PETA is a biased source (duh)

It makes their meat sweeter. Great for grilling!!!
