Here is what you need to do.

1) start cooking more vegetarian food.
http://www.vegetariantimes.com
2) start giving up one animal at a time.first month give up eating cows
3) continue giving up animals and replacing food with healthy vegetarian foods
4) when hungry eat more fruit and veggies
5) do not freak out if/when your body detoxes
6) get to know more veggies, either here on line or in person - for moral support and understanding
7) do not listen to people that say animals are here for us to eat. or that you will die if you don't eat meat. neither is true!

Research more about how you can eat more healthy foods. -

Remember the 1st vegetarian mantra
"I don't need to kill to eat and be healthy".

Remember the 2st vegetarian mantra
"I don't need meat for protein or any other health benefits".

If you fall of the wagon, get right back on, and be strong!

After completion of being a vegetarian over a year, learn about veganism. -

write if you need help, or if you have a relapses

uhhh..
i tried. it was too hard.
maybe just become very commited?

Make a political decision to be a vegetarian-make it about not participating in inhumane practices and irresponsible economic farming. When you have a political belief, you're more likely to walk the walk. And the longer you go without eating meat, the less you'll crave it.

search the web for a slaughterhouse video. watch it all the way through, no matter how uncomfortable you become. this is what made me a vegetarian.

You can buy mock meat. There is mock steak, ribs, burgers, meatballs, bacon, chicken, chicken nuggets. They are very good I've eaten them all before. Some of the mock meats look and taste more like meat then others, depending on the company that made it. Another thing you can do is go on youtube and watch some videos on animals being slaughtered. That will make you sick the next time you even think of eating meat lol. It worked on me.

Watching video footage of factory farms and slaughterhouses can be very motivating.

Meet Your Meat is a good one:

It helps to find some delicious faux meats that you can use in your favorite meals and recipes. See this site for a list of popular products: http://www.vegcooking.com/guide-favs.asp

Good luck!

okay.
well try to cut down.
if you want to do it for the animals..
you will stop.
like i did :)
or if you REALLY cantt..
maybe take slower steps, like take away red meat and just eat chicken, then cut down more, and eat none?

yeah, and watch the videos all the way through

Figure out what you really believe. If you have a strong belief in it, you're more likely to stick with it. Research, research, research!

If you love it that much, don't give it up completely. Slowly cut yourself back until you're comfortable with it.

But really, you don't have to give up red meat to be healthy, just don't over indulge.

Whatever you ate meat in before, break up pieces of veggie burger in it.

You're not trying to give up smoking or heroin. Just start slowly. Stop passing by the meat section at the store. STOP eating fast food. Its not like you're having relapses if you eat mom's meat loaf once in a while. She's going to make it anyway.

And drop the label. Just don't eat meat. Stop trying to become an exalted Vegetarian.
