Fardy you naughty, it's April Fools Day isn't it!
Now I get it. It's a joke right?
I mean what would be on the menu?
Would it be a big bag of oats so it's porridge every breakfast using water.
Lunching on beans on toast made with watery beans and that highly processed bread with margarine that even the flies will not eat if you leave it out in the sun.
Snacks? probably a few carrot sticks (sticking to his theme)
Drinks? (oh yes it said FEED the family not water them too)
Then each supper? The old lady who lived in a shoe style?
On a lighter note, Ritz biscuits are nice with mixed chopped olives and a light sprinkle of finely grated cheese.
Bless 'im. He means well. Maybe he should try out living on a tight budget for a while and I am not talking a few weeks, maybe a year. We could SURVIVE on a tight budget, but to really live, you have to be very resourceful, have an optimistic and happy outlook and I don't believe it would include shopping at Salisbury's.
I don't know what a fiver or a sainsbury is, but thanks for the info. I guess I can.
It doesn't say feed your family for a week for a fiver! It's just one meal!
A family can be two people or more. For a fiver you can get bread fish ham cheese soup butter and some kit kat. Thats enough for any meal !
can you buy anything from sainsburys for under a fiver? and if you could, i bet you could go next door to asda or tescos and it'd be only £2 :P
but no. i don't think 7 people can be fed from sainsburys for under a fiver.
I think it was just that meal he cooked
Of course you can feed a family of four for a fiver from Sainsbury's. That is £1.25 a head. The prison system only spends £1.60 a day to feed a prisoner, 4 meals.
Instead of buying ready meals which are expensive, small portions and full of fat, salt and sugar, learn to cook.
Jamie did spaghetti and meatballs. Another alternative would be homemade pizza with either a soup to start or a salad. You could whip up an apple crumble for pud within the budget.
There are so many recipes that can be made cheaply, that it is a shame more people don't cook.
I doubt he means for a whole week. More like one meal using fresh ingredients
I think your logic falls into what is called the "falicy of ambiguity",
but enjoy your day in court, it'll be a blast.
Unless he specified you could feed them for a week, I don't think you'll get away with it.
Let us know how you get on though! Use your Nectar points and they should end up owing you money...
Top Cat you've gone a bit Dick van Dyke there...
yes you can because the advert has leaflets and if you follow the leaflet then the meal <*underlined* is easy to make for a fiver but...
you have to pay for the electriity or gas so it cost more
if they can survive on one tin of soup...yes !!!
I use to live in London, so I know exactly what you are taking about mate!
"Listen right, i an'it gona eat no meat from ya, sinkin Sainburys, or youra tesco! Alright, you go that!, That Jamie boy, now he can just buggere off. He can."
No, I am only joking, if I was in London, sure I would pay my 5 pounds and buy some lovely foods. - But I am not, I now live in the USA! so it may not be worth me flying in just for that!
Thanks for the info, anyway. Next time there is a great sale, just use the dog and bone!
