Heyyy vegetarians please answer ;]?!
and that is that she believes all meat eating is bad...and i can see why she would say that... i've seen the websites and all...
the thing i find worst about the whole vegetarian "fight" that she is campaigning is the methods used to kill animals.
now can somebody please inform me about any like government agencies or SOMETHING that actually does something to help with the situation? because becoming vegetarian, in my eyes, doesn't help combat those injustices.
because i see alot of websites saying WHY it is bad to eat meat...(biggest reasons: health, and cruelty.) yet i have never seen one that actually fights for those beliefs, that tries to actually stop the injustices - other than converting people into vegetarians...
Answers: ok now i have a vegetarian friend... and i am -- guess -- not a vegetarian. i respect her decisions and stuff... no i really do repect it, i don't critisize her or anything. there is but ONE thing that I do not admire...

No the government does not protect farm animals. Yes, being a vegetarian does make a difference.
Its all about demand and supply. There is a great deal of demand for meat. Meat is profitable. - Now if the government started making laws about proper animal care that would slow down the meat making process. Hence it would start becoming less profitable.
I am writing more...
There are basic, very basic laws about the animals health. Not due to animal welfare, but b/c if the sick animals were eaten many people would get very sick, and the government would be responsible. - hence there basic organizations called USDA, and FDA. there are three major problems with these organizations.
1) not enough inspectors to check for sick animals there are only 700 est. inspectors, and over 5700 slaughter houses, not even animal keeps but just slaughter house. - Hence not enough inspectors to check the poor animals health. -
2) Even when the animals are being checked, it is not always noted about the poor conditions. Because the meat industry does not want to be fined. henc emany of the insectors are paid off. -
3) The USDA and FDA, is guided and often paid by orgainzations such as the National beef org.
Basically, the meat industry nor the government really care about the animals, -m becuase it is not profitable too! - so why would ther ebe laws to protect farm animals.
Yes we the people do make a difference. - when you use your money to not buy meat, there is less demand. Right now only 5% of the US population is Veg*n. However if more people were, one by one there would be a change.
If want me to back up any of my facts, let me know - or you can email me for ech and every detail,. i will not be offend, if you ask me to "back up my facts". Of course I'll give more facts than you will want! lol.
I hope I have answered your question.
go to the humane societies website. - http://www.hsus.org
should you be a vegetarian. - okay look, this is the way I see it
1) Money is very powerful, when you use your money to back up how you feel, that is the true value of money
2) how passionately do you feel about this? - with anything in life you have to talk the talk and walk the walk. -
3) life is so short, make your choices count. Be the powerful individual that you are.
Sometimes we agree with the majority but if you don't you should stand up and say, this is my life, I will chose to be......
See this is your choice. If you want to be a vegetarian, I will help you, and so will many other people. But if it is not that important to you, well.. okay thats fine.
sorry im only a vegetarion that doesn't eat meat because i dont like the taste
there probably is none in usa because of freedom of decision
go to peta2.com and you will see anything you want to know about this kind of stuff
There are many organizations that fight against cruelty to animals. PETA is the biggest one.. they are a bit psycho though. I'm a member of SOAP at my school. (Student Organization for Animal Protection) there are government guidelines for how you should treat animals, not actual government organizations.
well i'm vegetarian
b/c in my religion HINDU
we belive in spirtual stuff and our body need to stay clean
and when u eat meat, u begin to act liek teh animal u ate
I am culturly born vegetarian (im an indian)
Well I now forgot that i sit with a whole table of meat-eaters and i just make sure that i eat what is best forme and my religion
i dont care anymore
but yes i think that schools should pay a bit more attention to kids that struggle to find meat-less food in the cafeteria lines
I think part of it is reducing the demand. If people just don't buy the meat, meat producers will have to face why. If the only conclusion they can see is cruelty and hormones, and if people are willing to eat meat if these things are amended, then I think being vegetarian can really make a difference.
I just really dislike the taste of meat in my mouth. Whether it be small meat, big meat, light meat, or dark meat. I just dislike having that meat in my mouth. I have never pressured others to take that meat out of their mouths. it's their decision to keep stuffing meat in there, cramming it more and more.
go to PETA they or even small websites like marscandykills.com and they have links where you can email or protest and sign petitions
because by being a vegetarian you stop eating meat and one less is one less cow you have to kill , by the year you save about 100 animals, and just think the one more and one more, that is fighting for their beleifs because like with kfc they have been asked several times to stop the way the kill their chickens they just wont so you boycot their restauraunt and the demand for their chicken goes down, so its kind of a silent killer in a way
peta,ALF there are not alot of organizations but for every vegan saves the lives of at least 100 animals a year.I dont like touching meat but I still make food for my family because they are not vegan and tell your friend if she wants to really help animals watch the products you buy because animal testing is horriable as well splenda kill thousands of animals
SHAC
I'm probably going to get a ton of thumbs down, but compared to how much money (billions of dollars) is made by the combined well known animal rights groups, very little is being done by them to actually remedy the situation.
I'm an attorney, and I see each day as a chance to use my influence to tell others why I do not eat or wear animals. I think the fight will be won by those of us who patiently convince our family and friends that they need to rethink how they were programmed to eat from childhood and beyond. I don't think there is any quick solution to solving this situation, since so much of what we do and use involves use of animals either directly or indirectly. Many animal rights groups wish to hurry this process up, but I see nothing from any of them other than a few converts, collection of donations, videos and nude calendars.
In this world, money talks.
When you give your money to a business (such as purchasing animal products), you're saying "I approve." By being veg*n, you're ceasing to support animal agriculture because you're not funding the production of their product - you're withdrawing your financial support.
Being veg*n is like armchair activism at every meal, every day. It's a peaceful, active protest against the injustice of animal cruelty.
By simply existing as a veg*n, you're drawing attention to the fact that there's a BIG problem in the world with the way animals are treated. By simply declaring to another person that you're a veg*n, you're sending a strong message that you are not okay with animals being used as meat and milk machines for humans to exploit.
Im a Vaginaterian. Its delicious and you can get your white and dark meat if you want
i love meat expesialy deer meat plus its fun shooting them to
