Strict Vegan?!
Answers: I know someone who's a strict vegan and they drink beer and smoke cigarette's, think she does it for the attention and not the health benefits?
some beers (they are filtered through fish scales) are not vegan and if they eat bread there are not vegan because bread is made with eggs, it is super suer hard to be a vegan , she might just be doing it for the attention or the animal rights deal.
not all vegans become vegans for health reasons...sometimes its about going against animal torture and that shouldn't stop her from smoking or drinking beer
I don't know this person but I have known a few Vegans that have smoked and drank (just careful of what is in their drinks) but they were Vegan for moral reasons- not just the "health benefits"
does she wear leather?
Maybe she is vegan because she is against animal cruelty and she wants to help the environment. That is why I'm a vegan. I personally value an animal's well being more than I value my health. Maybe she thinks the same.
People go vegan for a variety of reasons, health being just one of them. Many (most?) vegans identify themselves as ethical vegans, meaning they chose it for ethical reasons related to animal welfare. If she went vegan for primarily ethical reasons, there's no reason why she can't drink beer and smoke. It's her choice just like it's a meat eater's choice to do unhealthy things. Even if she chose veganism because it's a healthy diet, it doesn't automatically mean that all her decisions will be the healthiest ones.
Why a person eats and makes the lifestyle choices that they do - are personal to that person - be it for attention or not.
Point is - does it really matter??
