I'm thinking about going Vegan. Any advice?!

Question: I tried it once before, but i couldn't make it a day without eating meat. With all the dangers in eating meat (i.e. the cows) I wanna try something safer. can somebody give me some tips on going vegan?

this is what a vegan is
"Vegan" redirects here. For other uses, see Vegan (disambiguation).

The logo of the world's first organisation for vegans, the Vegan Society, registered in 1944.Veganism is a philosophy and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose.[1][2] Vegans do not use or consume animal products of any kind.[3] The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are ethical commitment or moral convictions concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and spiritual or religious concerns.[4][5][2] Of particular concern are the practices involved in factory farming and animal testing, and the intensive use of land and other resources required for animal farming.

Various polls have reported vegans to be between 0.2%[4] and 1.3%[6] of the U.S. population, and between 0.25%[5] and 2.24%[7] of the UK population.

Vegan diets (sometimes called strict or pure vegetarian diets) are a subset of vegetarian diets, which are credited with lowering the risk of colon cancer, heart attack, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, prostate cancer, and stroke.[8] However, vegan diets can be low in levels of calcium, iodine, vitamin B12 and vitamin D. Vegans are therefore encouraged to plan their diet and take dietary supplements

Vegan or vegetarian?
HUGE DIFFERENCE.
i'm a vegetarian - so no flesh.
its easy...

vegan = no things that comes from animals whatsoever
ex: no milk, no cheese, nothing that has milk in it![including cookies..]

I wouldn't do it. We're at the top of the food chain for a reason, right? I might consider compromising by choosing more eco-friendly and healthful options such as only meats that are organic, grass-fed, cage-free etc.

eat veggies. pasta, fruit, cheese. dairy..... just make sure your not missing out on vitamins,,, if worse comes to worse eat your own protein. ;)

I tried it for a couple of years and frankly it's not really what it's cracked up to be.
Very difficult to maintain and not enough variety.
So I had to dig deep and ask myself if I was making any kind of difference, and when I found out that I was merely being a hypocrite I went back to being an omnivore
There is animal deaths on either side that we ALL contribute to, even if eating a veggie ONLY diet...
I noticed almost no difference in health either...
I'm in the best shape of my life since I am a runner...
I have very low blood pressure and very low cholesterol.

I'd advise you to take it slowly and don't try to completely change your lifestyle in one day. Educate yourself about what it is first so you are prepared.

Good luck!

it depends how old u are..I know someone who's vegan..but because she's only 16, the doctor advice her to try some protein cos she still needs it for her growing body..

i think u shld start out by going vegetarian
that just means no meat
no chicken
no cow
no pig
no fish
no frog
no veil
none of those evil foods

a vegan is some1 who dsnt eat any of those or animal by products like cheese, milk, eggs, dairy, none of that

start out going vegetarian and make sure u get protein (good sources r cottage cheese protein shakes and beans)
nd then if u can last like a year try going vegan

good luck!

I have been using the artificial meat. Taking a boca burger with soy cheese slice. No one knows.
Smart dogs, with a pickle down the middle on a hot dog bun.
Roasted they are okay.
When forced order a vegetarian pizza, can't tell the difference. Most pizza parlors have macroni like spaghetti meals and french bread with a big salad.
We went to taco bell and got a 7 layer job, it is good and no meat. Also, they have the bean burrito.
Buy the burritos all made up with cheese or ravollies with cheese.
Getting away from the milk and cheese that is a lot harder.

It sounds like your talking more towards a vegetarian lifestyle vs. a vegan.

Are you sure that you know the difference?

A vegetarian lifestyle would more than cover the personal choices and concerns that you have.
