Yes, drilling holes in vegetables is so cruel and those people deserve to be prosecuted for felony cruelty-to-vegetables. I'm going to call the police this second. What the people did is no different than slaughtering animals while they're fully conscious.

it is quite amazing how much vegetables get wasted every day only a small apart exactly get used because of the sizes which they have to be sold at. if they are to small or to big they just get wasted. these people using the veg for playing musical instruments are just wasting even more veg because that isnt even there proper use.

Well it's definately a waste of good vegetables, but no they probably do not eat them afterward. Chances are they use them as "instruments" until they begin to spoil and then just toss them in the trash.
