Cottage cheese actually has a lot of protein. Other good stuff:
Soy milk, tofu, tempeh, veggie fake meat products (usually soy), lentils if you don't consider them a bean:), hummus/chickpeas, whole grains, dairy products, peas and nuts.
Hope that helps a little:)
Also here is a good site- if you scroll down to the bottom they have charts of different food groups with the amount of protein in each food listed.

use peas

I am a vegetarian also & I don't enjoy beans either.
I like to eat other vegetables, and if you cut them down to bean size then that can be a substitution. For example, asparagus, eggplant, zuchini/squash, potatoes, rhubarb, yams, celery, if you leave the skins on and cut them up in cubes and add them in according to their varying cooking times, i think hard veggies would suffice.

are you still eating fish?

well u need protein so eat alot of milk cheese nd eggs
cottage cheese is relly good too no matter how bad it sounds
try protein shakes too
i bought a vanilla one nd it taste like a starbucks vanilla bean frappicino!!! eat alot of peas too and green veggies
ask r doctor if u need vitamins too cus my doc made me take a vitamin with alot of B12

Tofu is a bean product but doesn't really taste like beans so they are a good alternative and a good protein source. Nuts of course, are also good protein sources. If you eat eggs, then eggs too. Milk too is very nutritious and has quite a lot of protein.

chickpeas....garbanzo beans. they make hummus out of it. YUM!

Substituting for what? Are you looking to get meat-like consistency in a recipe, or just looking for ways to get your protein? If it's the former, there are many "fake meats" available at the grocery now. MorningStar is the most popular brand. They make soy-based ground beef, sausage links, etc.

If it's just protein you are trying to get, you need to stock up on whole grain breads, rice, and pasta. They are full of protein!

mY sister was a veghead, she LOVED tofu, if you fry it in soy sauce or worshitare, it is delicous. Peanut butter is good...go on mayoclinic.........very useful

So far, everyone has good suggestions. Maybe it's the beans you're eating? My mother says she hates beans but I see her eating them all the time. I like most beans but a few I don't like. Just suggesting that if it's a few you don't like, don't rule out the rest. Do you consider lentils beans? Or black-eyed peas? If you go for the nuts, I would suggest other nut butters instead of peanut butter. I loved peanut butter don't eat it so much after I learned a lot of the peanuts used tend to be low quality.

carrots.

Chicken chunks are a great substitute for beans.
