How long will homemade hummus last in the fridge before going bad?!
I just made 2 pounds of chickpeas and came up with about a gallon of hummus when all was said and done. I kept out a quart and freeze the rest in snack size backs for individual servings.
I do this because it takes SOOOO long to soak and boil them.
**Sweetie, being a meateater does not make me illiterate. My son LOVES hummus and Nan bread.
--IN addition, if you use sesame oil instead of Tahini, the hummus will last much longer.
Answers: You can refrigerate for one week generally. You can freeze for 3 months. Sometimes it depends on what is in the recipe.

Whenever I make it, it seems to stay good for about a month or more. Well...at least I never got sick from it. And it still smelled and tasted fresh. No mold or anything either. The oil and the lemon juice preserve it really well.
That's a really good question....I would just use the "if it's smelly/changed colors/has mold, don't eat it" rule.
i would give it 4 days in the fridge longer in the freezer
