I would make the meeting very interactive...maybe you could go around the room and have each person say which aspect of animal rights they're most passionate about, what kind of activities they'd like to do, etc... (But make participation optional so shy people don't feel intimidated).
You could give an introduction to animal rights issues... focus on the areas where most animals are suffering:
(1) Food - factory farming and slaughterhouses
(2) Clothing - fur, leather, wool
(3) Entertainment - circuses, rodeos, etc.
(4) Experimentation - dissection, product testing, etc.
Or just explain in general terms what animal rights means. Something like "People who support animal rights believe that animals are not ours to use for food, clothing, entertainment, experimentation, or any other purpose. We believe that animals deserve consideration of their best interests, regardless of whether they're cute, endangered, or useful to humans."
Maybe you could offer your ideas about potential campaigns or group activities, and then have some open discussion... try to reach a consensus if possible. It's best to focus on one campaign rather than trying to do everything.

Good luck!
peta gives out so much info
well, i have been a semi-vegetarian for two years and i just turned 14 ; i am planning to be a full vegetarian when my mom gives me the go signal cause she thinks i still need protein in fish/seafood/shellfish.
a motion you could go for is that the way the animals are killed for their meat, which is very wrong, because we could get the nutrients from other sources.
idk talk about factory farms or somethin
start with something visible, which you can see happening around you. If you live in a city you could talk about stray dogs/cats which are killed in huge numbers because they are not spayed before sale and may be sold on impulse to people who have no intention to or no idea about looking after them.
Or you could talk about how factory farming is an integral part of junk foods like McDeathburger etc. Ignorance is the main issue you will be facing- people who think animals are killed humanely and we are in western countries so everything is fine. Give them something that will spring to mind when they walk down the street and see it all around them.
Good luck. Keep at it and you'll make a difference ;)

perhaps you can have a look at Compassion in World farming for some ideas.
