The ones I know wouldn't =/
I'm a vegetarian and I don't eat fish. Vegetarians eat no meat at all.
There are some people who are known as "Pescan vegetarians." They are the ones that eat fish.
Professionally they better not eat their patients but they can if the fish is not registered at the database...
Fish is an animal. Vegetarians don't eat animals.
Fish is not a vegetable.
So "vegetarians" who eat chicken are fooling themselves. But not anyone else.
Bill Maher is a nut.
no. veg heads dont eat meat. except for the hipocrits. there fat
some do but sometimes vegitarians like eating fish so they just do.
No most people who call themselves vegetarian do not eat fish. The people that do are instead pesoctarians. The very definition of a vegetarian excludes all meat. It is true that some people call themselves vegetarian and eat fish or seafood but they are wrong. True vegetarians do not eat meat and fish is included. You can be sure that people who are vegetarian for ethical reasons do not eat fish.
I would have said yes they eat fish because I thought they don't eat red meat or poultry and would have said vegans don't eat fish but apparently neither do vegetarians
I'm not sure if Maher is a vegetarian. But I know he is an idiot.
Bill Maher is not a vegetarian (google it). I wouldn't consider a fish eater a vegetarian but I think there are varying degrees of vegetarianism.
Nope they don't eat any meat at all..including fish =]
oo and as of Bill Maher he said hes NOT a vegetarian but he doesn't eat that much meat
there are a lot of different kinds of vegetarians. vegetarians usually dont eat ANYTHING with a face on it. which i would be fish also. there are also some vegetarians that eat fish and poultry. and vegans which are ppl who don't eat any animal products (meat and dairy). i was a vegetarian a while ago and i didn't eat any animals. =] hope this helps.
Vegetarians do not eat fish. That's more of a selective vegetarian. I myself, am involved w/ PETA, but I am not a vegetarian. I am more for animals rights, etc. I do not wear leather, fur, etc.
An Bill Maher is not a vegetarian.
I have no idea what Maher eats, but eating meat and caring for the welfare of animals aren't mutually exclusive.
Certain realities of the food chain put us at the top, and humans can only get vitamin B-12 from animal sources (the supplements are from animals too). On the other hand, our higher intellect enables us to feel compassion and to reject the pointless abuse of food animals.
Fish are an interesting cognitive disconnect in some minds. Some people see them as animals and won't eat them, other people view them as occupying some kind of netherworld in the animal kingdom and are therefore fair game.
Well I am a vegetarian and I do not eat any meat what so ever which includes fish. Fish are a living, breathing animal which if someone says they are a "vegetarian" and eats fish they really aren't one. So for myself being a vegetarian I do not eat fish cause it is still an animal. Just like a cow or pig they are living, breathing animals to. hope I have helped.
My girlfriend is a vegaterian and she doesn't eat fish. She does eat cheese and foods prepared with milk or eggs though. Vegans do not eat meat or any bi-product of animals either. They don't eat cheese, eggs, milk, or anything that has those things in them. They also do not wear leather or anything that comes from animals. My girlfriend, which is a vegaterian also doesn't eat jell-o, most yogurts, or jelly because they have gelatin in them, which is made from animal bones.
It's still meat -- albeit "fish" meat -- however I have heard people say "pesco vegetarian".
A true blue vegetarian would not have fish, other types of seafood, chicken, pork or beef. They would also not have dairy products and eggs (they call it "liquid meat"). Those who eat dairy products (ice cream, milk, cheese, etc.) and eggs are sometimes called "lacto-ovo vegetarians".
But like Phoebe Buffay (the character from the TV show Friends) said, "Nothing with a face."
As for Bill Maher, he's a vegan. Nothing from an animal touches him. -->

thats a pretty good question. if i had to guess i would say no because fish is a breathing living creature and thats the whole idea right?
Fish do not grow on vines or trees, or underground for that matter; therefore, not vegetarian.
Bill Maher is a vegan, in fact.
"Meat is dirty. I wouldn't touch a hot dog without a condom on it."
-Bill Maher
I am vegetarian and I do not eat any meat, poultry, fish and other sea food, and also foods with gelatin. Vegans do not eat all the foods vegetarians do not eat in addition to any animal products such as milk, cheese, butter, honey, eggs etc.
From the chambers dictionary: "a person who lives wholly on vegetable food, with or without dairy products, honey and eggs".
Vegetarians do not eat meat, including fish. However, flexitarians can fish and pesicatarians can eat fish. I am flex vegan, which means that I eat a vegan diet but on occaision I may some lovely salmon, or seafood. I also have dairy from time to time. I have a lot more wiggle room in my diet and I am not held to the rigid standards of a vegan diet. Also, my friends actually are glad to see me, which is not the case for vegans in general.
Bill Maher is a vegan, somehow I am not surprised by this.
Vegetarians do not eat animals. Fish is an animal. NO vegetarian eats fish, although there are some misguided individuals who eat fish and call themselves vegetarian. Here is the definition from the people who actually coined the term. Since it is their word, they get to say what it means.
http://www.vegsoc.org/info/definitions.h...I have no idea what Bill Maher's dietary habits are, sorry.
Edit to Swinline08: B12 is not produced by animals, it is produced by bacteria which proliferate in the guts of animals. B12 supplements are produced by the very same bacteria, but grown on a vegetarian-friendly medium. It is neither synthetic nor animal-derived.
Vegetarians don't eat fish or any other animal flesh.
"flexitarians can fish"--can they hunt too, Common Sense?
no, vegetarians don't eat fish since fish are animals with flesh. clearly they aren't vegetables.
Most vegetarians eat fish, and some eat chicken. Vegans don't eat fish/chicken or anything that was alive -.-
It depends on what kind of Vegetarian you are. There are Vegans, and some that eat fish, it just depends.
No, he is not a vegetarian.
It depends on how much of a vegetarian you are, I eat fish, but only on lent
i've always thought vegitarians didn't eat red meat... last i checked fish wasnt red meat... fish is the swimming vegetable of the sea?
