Can I be vegan and use oil? Since it is a fossil fuel that came from dinosaurs which are animals?!
Answers: Is fossil fuel used for electricity too? Dinosaurs are reptiles, if you are vegan can you eat alligator and wear alligator shoes?
These are ummm interesting points. A true vegan would probably shun the shoes. Unless it was an alligator pear (avocado) you'd never eat an alligator either if you were vegan.
Please make sure that you keep your mouth shut at all times too to avoid swallowing flies.
just because it's a fossil fuel doesn't mean it came from dinosaurs! and no, you can't wear alligator shoes if you're vegan. all animals are off limits, including reptiles. but oil is okay.
Wow, I never thought of that. Well, I guess you could, I mean it's not like they were killed for our consumption, they died of natural causes.
Fossil fuels have nothing to do with dinosaurs. Most fossil fuel deposits of coal, oil and natural gas are the result of decaying plant material from an era before dinosaurs even existed.
Also, dinosaurs are an extinct array of species and vegan practices against animal products are done in the name of combating animal exploitation and cruelty. You can't harm something that has been dead for 65 million years!
Theoretically dinosaurs died of natural causes. Someone killed an alligator to make alligator shoes and tasty alligator roasts.
the definition of veganism: To exclude as far as is possible and practical, all forms of exploitation of animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.
Picking up a pile of animal poo to fling at a troll--Vegan! Yay!
oils don't just come from dinosaurs they come from plants so i expect you could use that, however the alligator shoes you wouldn't be able to wear
Veganism is about eliminating animal exploitation. Fossil fuels were created over millions of years from decomposing organic matter from plants and animals which were extinct before we even got here. How on earth is using oil exploiting a dinosaur? It's completely different from killing an actual *living* reptile and eating or wearing it.
There are real, valid reasons for limiting one's consumption of fossil fuels, but the fear of exploiting animals dead for tens of millions of years isn't one of them.
In philosophy that argument would be called a redducio ad absurdum. . . or when things get taken to that point it is patently absurd. But if you want to ride your bike, or cook or heat your home with dried cow's dung as they do in India well, that's OK with me.
"it is a fossil fuel that came from dinosaurs"
This is an incorrect assumption and so far off the mark it must be satire.
"it is a perfectly good question"
That is a subjective opinion; I think it was meant 'to stir the possum'.
"if you are vegan can you eat alligator and wear alligator shoes?"
Now, that was childish - you had some good stuff going till that one ... you blew it.

Fossil fuels--from animals and plants that have been dead and decaying millions of years.
Alligator and alligator shoes--animal killed for human consumption.
Get the difference? As someone else pointed out, it's kind of hard to exploit someone who's been dead for millions of years.
