What are some good foods to eat to make you stay full when your a veggitarian?!


Question: Ratatouille! Made mostly from veggies and tomato sauce. Tasted pretty darned good too.

  • you can make a portabello mushroom burger..Rachael Ray makes a really good one! Most indian food is really tastyy and fullfilling because its rice or Nan break with yummy veggies in curry sauces and stuff

    Spanish omelette, vegetable curry, paella. Try and base your meals around protein, whole carbohydrates, pulses and vegetables - they're all healthy and filling.

    vegetables are more easily digested, therefore leave your stomach sooner. you can get used to a less full feeling in your stomach. nourishment is more important.

    Foods with a lot of protein and fiber like beans or whole grains really help out. Fiber-rich foods like veggies and some fruit might take longer to leave the stomach. Avoid very simple sugars (chocolate bars, potato chips, popped corn, rice crackers, etc), which some think might tide their hunger over but it really sends your blood sugar spiking and then plummeting, causing nothing but hungry feelings. It's best to eat a full, square, balanced meal. It's normal to feel hungry 3 hours after eating, and people should eat every 3-5 hours while awake.

    One thing that makes you feel full is fat. Eat some nuts, nut butters, avocados, cook with olive oil, and your meals will be much more satisfying.

    As a side to your meal what ever it is you can have Triscuts with Peanut Butter! The whole grains in the Triscuts mixed with PB should help you be full a little faster. Whole grain makes you stay full.
