Trying to eat healthy?!

Question: I recently started making scrambled without the yoke because i thought it was healthier.

My mother got upset and told me to eat the yoke because I was "wasting" her food.

What are the benefits of making scrambled without that yoke, so I can tell my mother. Heart disease runs on my dad's side of the family, so I wanted to start eating healthy.

If you are worried about being unhealthy, you should definitely cut out the yolks of an egg. If she is upset because you are wasting her food, then try and incorporate the yolk into another recipe or just separate the yolk from the white and cook it on the burner and give it to someone who likes egg yolks. If you want to be healthy, you should definitely cut out most animal products. They are a major cause of heart disease. Recent studies have found that skinless chicken has the same amount of cholesterol as beef. So my advice is to fill your plate with veggies and complex carbs like beans, whole grain rice, whole wheat bread, potatoes with no butter, bran cereals with silk milk (my personal favorite), and much more. You will be healthier and studies have shown if you eat a healthy veggie diet, you can reverse heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity! Its amazing what those veggies can do! Good luck!.

You should listen to your mother. At least till you can buy your own food.

The whites of eggs are the healthy part because the yolks have all the cholesterol and fat in them. If your mom gets mad because she thinks you are wasting the yolks, then tell her to buy a carton of plain egg whites at the store. They are just egg whites, no yolks. You will get the health benefits from the egg whites and your mom can't accuse you of wasting. Now everyone is happy.

Ooh. On BOTH sides of my family their is heart disease! haha so I'm vegetarian :D but thats not why though... whatever
Anyways
Yeah, about the eggs; buy Egg Beaters. They are just egg whites. Well there are two kinds... the other kind has a little yoke in it. But I like the white one; Yoke free!!! :D lol

Yeah just get those I guess. I got em and they are delicious.

Oh also being Vegetarian altogether helps stop heart disease too AND saves animals!!! Yay double the advantage!! :]

Well tell her how that sort of worries you about heart disease running in your family, and if they still don't care, then let them continue eating the eggs like that because that is their choice. However, you can buy eggs at the store without the yolk, therefore you will not be "wasting" food Also, good for you about being concered with your health! :)

The yolk is where the cholesterol and fat is. If she is complaining about waste you can ask to have egg beaters insted.

yes

I thought about it but it just sounds too nasty. The yolk has protein. I think its fine to eat the whole egg as long as you don't overdo it. Twice a week is fine or even every day if its just one egg.

Cook the yolk seperately and add it to her breakfast.

Everyday, just look forward to moving out.
