Food.

Look, all foods have amino acids, the building blocks of protein. It takes, if I recall correctly, 20 amino acids to make a protein. Your body can make most of these amino acids, but needs to get eight from dietary sources. These are called essential amino acids. Animal foods will contain all eight essential amino acids, but most plant foods lack in one or more.

HOWEVER, what's lacking in one palnt food can be found in another. You can eat a bean-and-rice burrito or you can eat chili fries for lunch and a stir-fry with rice for dinner. So just about all foods have amino acids.

If you get a book on vegan nutrition, every single one will tell you somewhere that 1) you don't need that much protein, 2) that too much protein is detrimental to your bones and your kidneys, and/or 3) even vegans get more protein than they need. I mean, really, have you ever heard of a case, much less an epidemic, of protein deficiency in any industrialized nation? I'm sure the antiveg media would jump all over such a case if they found out.

What cattlteman wrote the book that you can only get amino acids from "steak meat"?

Soya protein is the best plant protein, supplying all 8 amino acids. The body cannot synthesise (make) 8 amino acids. These are called essential amino acids. Basically, soya is a very good quality protein.

Drink soya milk, or try these other sources of vegetarian protein- eggs, cheese, yogurts, beans, nuts, seeds, pulses, wholemeal bread..:-)

Amino acids are not a kind of protein- they are the building blocks of protein.

It is ridiculous to think that they can only be obtained from steak, when in fact, the body supplies most of them by breaking down old tissues, with no input from you whatsoever.

The ones the body cannot produce are: phenylalanine, valine, threonine, tryptophan, isoleucine, methionine, histidine, leucine, and lysine, and all of these are easily obtainable from plant sources like lentils, root vegetables and leafy greens.

Braggs Liquid Amino's, you can get it in a spray bottle, it tastes like soy sauce but not as strong at all... You can put a couple sprays on just about anything and not really taste it, or use alot and cook your tofu ect in it, it is good stuff, I have a few Vegan friends that use this on just about everything they cook

I know they sell it at my hannaford, in the organic section, as well as at Stop n Shop

Here is a link for it...

Warm up your milk before bed...This releases L-Tryphothan,a mild amino acid that induces sleep..and a calmative effect...No Drugs for you...Lucky Swine! LOL!

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. ALL protein is made of amino acids.
