I'm Vegan, what are some ingredient names I need to lookout for in products?!

Question: I know there are a few obvious like Whey and such but what else?

Answers: I know there are a few obvious like Whey and such but what else?

Here's an extensive list:

http://www.happycow.net/health-animal-in...

Pork, Fish, Chicken, Beef, Veal, Eggs, Spam

Gelatin (made from ground up tissue and bones, for ex. its found in jell-o, altoids, and marshmallows)
Casein
Caseinate (casein mixed with a metal, like calcium caseinate)
Stearate (found in gobstoppers and sweettarts)
Calcium phosphate
Rennet (mostly in dairy products so its easy to avoid)

I hope that helped!

beware of gelatin in many foods particularly candy....gelatin is made from the connective tissue of animals so jello, skittles and even marshmallows are off limits.
