it is up for you, but im a vegetarian and i would eat it. It is better and more respectful in my opinion to eat it and have it not go to waste in the trash can. The thought of an animal suffering and being killed to be eaten, then just left in the trash is much more depressing to me than killing it in the first place. To me, more than not eating animals, bring a vegetarian is about working to have animals more humainly treated and i think you will still be a vegetarian if you eat it and a very noble person for what you do. It is your choice, but i would not go as far to say you can no longer call yourself a vegetarian just because you didn't want to waste.

Don't eat the chicken if you're vegetarian..
Unless you wanna be a fake vegetarian, knock yourself out.

I have had this thought before. I think it is entirely up to you to make the decision for your self. But if you are going to eat meat you are not a vegetarian.

Well, is your mom going to throw it out if you don't eat it? Without putting it in the fridge, making a salad, using it for other meals, heck even leftovers or freezing it for months down the road?

I think that unless your family is incredibly wasteful and throws out food nonstop (which makes me feel kind of worried and sick but that's Western Society for you), you shouldn't let them guilt you into doing something you don't want to. It sounds like she's setting it up to where she wants you to believe that she'll throw all the chicken away or something just because of you.

Either way, think about it - it's already dead, she already paid for it, the meat industry already benefited from it, so all you can do to somehow not participate in the cycle is to not eat it. In my opinion you shouldn't go against your beliefs, even if threatened. The whole point of having values is to hold you through periods when others threaten you or try to incense you into doing things you don't want to do.

The chicken is dead and i dont think it will care that much if you eat it or toss it. If i where you i wouldn't eat it. i don't want to have the taste of something i can't eat on a regular basis because then i'll want to eat more. Let someone else in your family that eats meat eat it for leftovers.

i think if you have come this far into being a vegetarian ,you should not eat it! :)
but its up to you!
good luck with ur dission

I Am A Vegan

Meaning No Fish, No Meat, No Milk, Dairy Crap

So Yea

Dont
Unless Your A Fake

I haven't eaten meat for over 31 years now. What means more to you? Your values or a bit of wasted chicken. Don't be wishy-washy, decide what you want and stick to it.

Why would even think that? If you are a true vegetarian then you wouldn't eat it. Thats disgusting.

If you want to eat it, eat it. The animal has already been killed, wasting it won't make much of a statement since it has already been purchased.

Some people think if you eat one bite of meat, you're no longer a vegetarian. Its not like being French or German, its just a choice you're making.

Whatever makes you feel like you're doing the right thing is what you should do.

Good luck!

your not truly vegitarian if you WANT to eat the poor innocent chicken that did nothing to you.

you can save it for someone(meat eater) later ....i wouldnt eat meat again..i dont need it...why?

Eat it if you want to but don't go around calling yourself a vegetarian that eats chicken, it confuses people.

It would be disrespectful to the chicken if you threw away its body right? Yeah, it wouldn't be very vegan-like, but you are respecting the chicken.

F.G.S……….Just eat the thing, get your mum to eat it, feed it to your pet, give it to the homeless shelter, give it a proper garden burial. Whilst you are at it, learn how to spell and construct a sentence properly.

.

i think it is more respectful not to waste to food.
those poor chickens gave their lives, now you just wanna throw the meat in the garbage.

btw, chickens are stupid birds that only exist because humans raise them for food. they don't have spirits.

I'd give it to a friend of mine. At work we had a bunch of chicken left over from a drug rep, and no one really eats the stuff other than my 5 person dept. I just brought it home for my non-veg roomies.

Force to eat the butchered flesh of another beings - is a SERIOUS ABUSE.
It is worst than raping them alive ...emotionally and intellectually.

Would you give your own flesh to others to eat? or
Would you agree if something / someone eat your flesh? or
Would you agree if someone do "unnatural act" towards you?

True human goodness, in all its purity and freedom, can come to the fore only when its recipient has NO power. “Humanity’s true moral test, its fundamental test (which lies deeply buried from view), consists of its attitude towards those who are at its mercy: animals. And in this respect humankind has suffered a fundamental debacle, a debacle so fundamental that all others stem from it.
