It doesn't taste anything like regular milk. If you can, buy a small container. Or ask your friend for a glass next time you are over at their house.

No, it doesn't taste like cow milk.

Personally, I find rice milk to be a closer taste to cow milk.

I found that using plain soy milk in my cereal and baking to be a way to transition to it - it helps you get used to the flavour and texture. That, and drink chocolate soy milk - SO yummy! I LOVE the taste of soy milk.

soy milk is kinda good im allergic to milk so i drink soy milk if u get soy milk it tastes kinda like flour but its not that bad... but if u get vanilla soy milk its really good the chocolate one is kinda weird tho but yea hope i helped. =]

i'm a vegetarian and i hate milk, too.

soy milk doesn't have that slightly sour aftertaste/smell to it - you know, like even when milk is brand new from the store, it still kinda smells weird? soy milk doesn't

i make lattes with it, so i am sure the coffee or tea kills whatever resemblance to real milk the taste would have.

you can buy soy milk that is already flavored with vanilla - it's not bad!

Soy milk doesn't tast like milk at all. I like rice milk better than soy milk only because I can taste an aftertaste with soy milk. I use silk soy creamer for my coffee though and that doesn't bother me at all. You really need to try different types of soy milk to make a decision whether you are going to like it or not. Maybe go to a store that sells soy milk and see if they will let you try a few different kinds.

It tastes nothing like cows milk. My three kids drink it. I personally think it tastes terrible. You might prefer rice milk.

I barely remember what milk taste like, but soy milk has the same texture. The taste is conpletely different though

there are so many different brands of soymilk, and they all taste different. None of them has that awful sour milk aftertaste that cow milk has. Try different kinds before deciding if you like it or not. I like Silk, edensoy, Pearl, and Better than Milk powder. They come in small lunchbox sizes if you want to try before committing.

If you decide you don't like soy milk, there is oat, rice, almond, hazelnut, and hemp milk. The vanilla version is usually very sweet.

I agree, vanilla soy milk is o yummy so its chocolate! It does not taste like regular milk at all...

I HATE MILK TOO!!! If you try chocolate soy milk-silk its good. It does take getting used to since its so different. I think you should try it because it truly tastes better then regular milk. Plus your helping cows :)

Soy milk taste like you are drinking a peanut and it's kind of thick in texture. I personally can't drink soy milk alone. I prefer rice milk or even oat milk. They have a more smooth, thin taste like cows milk.

the only reason why soy milk, is called soy milk, is because it's white. that's about it, except maybe the similarities in nutrition. if it was clear then it would prob be called watery soy, or something.

I always hated milk too--couldn't stand the taste it left in my mouth (or the smell). I really only use soy milk (the plain silk kind) in my cereal, but I think it tastes fine if I drink it straight. It's definitely better than cow's milk. There are a bunch of other non-dairy milks too (oat, almond, rice, etc). The only other one I've tried is rice milk and I thought it was a little too sweet for me.
If your friend uses soy milk, maybe he or she will let you try some so you don't have to buy a whole carton.

If you're looking for calcium, I'd just eat more broccoli.

Anything you could get from soymilk you'd get from just plain eating soy as well. So why subject yourself to soymilk, when you hate milk?

I don't think it tastes like regular milk. It's also a lot thinner-- so it doesn't have the thick milky texture (which is what grosses most milk-haters out). So you're probably safe trying it. But whatever nutrient you're after is probably better found in a raw/steamed veggie or throwing said veggie into a juicer and avoiding the milk issue altogether :)

It doesn't really taste like milk. If you try the plain kind and don't like it, don't give up on it! Try flavored soy milk like vanilla, chocolate, chai, mocha, and coffee. Here is a site with the info on the soy milk.

There are so many endless soy milk drinks out there. Some taste like crap, while others taste fantastic. Silk, Soy Dream, Vita Soy... all good. They are the flavoured ones. I drink those on occasion, but mainly I drink Chinese plain soy milk. Took some getting used to, but now I love it. Especially warmed up.
