Why are vegetarians on here such Nazis?!

Question: I ask as a vegetarian who is annoyed at the militant way people are attacked for their beliefs.

Answers: I ask as a vegetarian who is annoyed at the militant way people are attacked for their beliefs.

You are so correct but it is just a few. Beware they will be punitive on you and all your answers will be turned in to the Yahoo Gestapo. These folks carry a lot of power on here so do not offend them or they will make your life miserable. Now watch and see how long it takes for this answer to be pulled off and I loose more points. Proof of your Nazi theory.

Same with the animal rights people, I kind of agree with them but are put off by the people themselves.

I'm not a Nazi at all, but I do get annoyed for having my questions and answers deleted all the time for no reason because of those who come in here and like to pick on us.

Are you reading the same Q&A the rest of us are reading? The people most often attacked here for their beliefs are the veg*ns.

I say that as a veg*n who is deeply offended by your use of the term "Nazi." I think it's utterly disrespectful to compare anyone to a Nazi. Unless of course, they are advocating for racial purity and attempting a genocide. Otherwise, it's just imflammatory and rude.

good question.

Is that why Poland doesn't have many vegetarians ?

I hear they were a bit peeved in 1939 and so are probably nervous all the vegetarians will start the "invasion" thing again

I don't think you will find that vegetarians are Nazis. Its not because they don't want to be, its just because we cannot find JackBoots made from Vegetan

Hmmm... Naziism is (in it's simplest form) the abuse of a power relationship.

I don't see any power-relationship here between veg*ns and others, and I don't understand your question.

But if your aim is to draw attention to intolerance, your question is the most hostile and intolerant that I've come across in a long time. Perhaps you should reconsider your approach.

EDIT:
If your only awareness of veg*ns brings you to catrgorize them as two subtypes, they you're either unbelievably closed-minded or you only know two veg*ns. And considering your choice of language, I'm putting my money on the former.

Why SHOULD veg*ns keep silent about social injustices? Why the h*ll not speak-up for what we believe in? It's because of the people who aren't afraid to speak their truth and act for change that YOU enjoy the freedoms you take for granted every single day.

Dang!!! don't you know it!!! It almost makes you scared of being one because it seems to create anger disorders or something...I mean I love my vegetables and I am all for animal rights, but...this almost speaks bad of vegetarians...perhaps it would be better to be a "closet vegetarian"
* I love Wahoo 100's answer

im vegeterian...

and im like the complete opposite of nazi...

maybe you just get attacked by the sexualy frustrated vegeterians?

Hey, I'm not a nazi! lol yeah, you do kind of look like one...

Ahahahaha!

I am in the middle of my GCSEs and am actually stressed to the max, but reading your question has just made my day.

*Sighs* Genius...

I think any time someone expresses a controversial opinion here they're called militant, Nazis or worse. Honestly there's so many conflicting opinions on everything, from lifestyle to even how to interpret research.

If I seriously disagree with something I'll say so, I'm never going to become a puppet that sits there and nods their head happily. I'm never rude, mean, derogatory or use personal attacks, which is what trolls do. In fact, most of the regulars here express their opinions strongly but refrain from personal attacks, vindictiveness or any other troll behavior.

What's interesting is that there are trolls in this section - who go by the names Christy, veganconscript, Ashley, etc. - who are actually meat eaters that pretend to be vegans and write really weird, ranting scenarios like "I was spying on my neighbor and he fed a squirrel in the park, which is unvegan and immoral, and now I will burn his car in protest, should I do it?" type questions.

So maybe the very people you dislike most in this forum are actually trolls parodying their own faulty concept of what vegans and vegetarians are like.

I agree though, sometimes I read something that I just think is downright offensive or inappropriate, but usually I don't even respond to those questions or acknowledge those answers. One quick thumb's down and it's off my screen. Try it.

People shouldn't judge people at all for thier lifestyles. Judging people for what they eat is ridiculous. They just need to be more tolerant. They sound like they are vegetarians, but thier judgement is making them cannibals.

look, vegetarianism is a diet choice, it is not some religious belief. ok so you may make the choice to be a vegetarian because of your beliefs for religious reasons or you are against animal cruelty, etc but it is still just a diet choice according to the dictionary.

& im with keady on this one, sexually frustrated people are scary!!!!!

addition: i was using the religious belief as an analogy because people often question my diet choice like i joined some cult.

It's just a response to the equally militant ways in which veg*nism is attacked on here by ignorant people who have nothing better to do.
I find that in real life, both omnis and veggers tend to tone down the rhetoric.

I don't believe they are.

Your use of the word "Nazi" is interesting, since it is usually only bandied about by right-wing fascists.

In what "militant way" are people "attacked?" Details, please.

Internet anonymity does wonders for people wanting to express their views. While there are some veggie people on here who appear a bit militant there are more omnis that come on here and act a million times worse. I am embarrassed by the way some of the omnis act like on here ( I am one myself, but I never condemn someones dietary choices). One of my really good friends in vegetarian and she never acts like the people on this forum. In fact, she doesn't even want to participate on here just because of some of the things that goes on in this place, that I have told her about.

So i would just ignore anyone who is acting too rash, and rely on the really good posters and answerer's on this forum. The good really does out weigh the bad.

"I do not give a toss what all the pompous Nazi vegetarian terrorist think on here."

Maybe it seems that way from a troll's point of view.

You believe vegetarians eat animal flesh and they don't. They corrected you and now you're mad.

Idealistic people seem to quite often go to the extreme, no matter the cause.

dude, you are calling us nazis? even your avater looks all ticked off and bitter at the world. did a vegetarian reject you at some point in your life or something? come out with your real reason for hating on us, mr. bitter

This is the Internet. So people say whatever pops into there heads with no fear of repercussions because they have a shield of anonimity. If it were a requirement to uses your real name and post you phone number in every post people would be a lot nicer.

There is an answer, don't visit the veg&vegan section.

Maybe its something you ate.

There's nothing wrong with passing leaflets out on the streets.

Freedom of speech, you should try it.

If you're really an animal rights activist, you'd speak up for the animals. No one's telling you to be a douche about it. That's your choice. You're missing the point of activism. It's to attack an issue not the people.

what, so every animal person that gives out information is aggressive?

You must have never even seen a stall my friend. I have done many stalls of all kinds in three different cities and only ever seen one person act like you describe. That was the first time she had attended a stall and we explained to her that we didn't care if people ate meat, we just wanted to provide them with information they were not going to get from the fast food restaurant we had set up outside. From then on she was cool.

I think you need to read up on what Nazis did, and who they did it to before you go insulting YA members like that.

Although I might have been offended by your remarks if I read them out of context (I am a vegan after all), I see your point.
I do this b/c of my personal beliefs and attitude, however I do not go around and preach much about how bad it is to eat meat. As far as I am concerned, you will not quit if I tell you to, to the contrary, you would probably try and annoy me by eating some juicy steak in front of me. However, I think that non-vegans and non-vegetarians should leave those who don't eat meat alone too. Don't make fun of me just b.c I happened to have different eating habits...
I think that if we left each other alone (vegans and non-vegans), we could co-exist better anyway b.c then if you asked me about what is so great about becoming a vegan, i would love to tell you, and you might even understand it better b/c you are not forced to quit something ou are used to.....
=)

you look like a nazi yourself.....

because they are weird

It's the lack of animal protein. Lack of it makes you militant, opinionated and intolerant.

The other day on Radio 4, someone involved in saving rare breed animals said that people should eat more of them or these rare breed will disappear as no one will care for them. In other words, vegetarianism can lead to animals becoming extinct! These do-gooders think they are doing us lamas good by not eating meat. But they are wrong. Live and let live.

this is not a a religion question

Hitler was a vegetarian, maybe they are just following suit.
