Is there any way I can contribute to helping animals without going vegetarian?!

Question: I really don't like how they treat animals in slaugherhouses and I want to contribute to helping. Is there anyway to do that without going vegetarian, like cutting back on meat?

Well, going vegetarian is obviously the first and most recommended way to help, why not try it? You could cut back a little each month. If it works for you and you feel healthier, just go veg! It sounds hard and everything, but honestly it's the best you can do for yourself, the environment, and obviously the animals :)

Sorry I couldn't give any other suggestions, it's just that going veg is the most effective and easiest thing to do. Good luck in whatever you choose!

BUY ORGANIC MEAT!! Seriously, they don't over-feed the animals to make them fat for butchering, they don't feed them antibiotics and hormones ( which is bad for you as well ) and they are free to roam and graze normally. Yes, they are still going to be chopped up and fed to us, but at least they aren't being mistreated for all of their lives. Google benefits of organic meat.

Animals should not be killed by abnormal methods in an atmosphere of fear and stress. On an organic farm it's o.k.

There are a number of reasons to go vegetarian/vegan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9As0YR0L...

If you ever crave meat, you can have immitation meat. I've never been interested in trying it, but I've been told the taste is very similar to real meat. Very practical for those who find the omnivore - vegetarian transition too difficult. You might want to try it!

I guess you could stop buying leather goods- donating money to charitable animal funds. Cutting back on meat is a great way. Of course cutting it out all together puts the ice cream on the cake. Stamps like USDA organic mean next to nothing- they check it out once or twice, other than that- its not regulated and you have no guarantee for them treating the animals nicely. Think of it this way- if they raise you in a nice way- but in the end, you still died- would this be a good thing? I'm glad to hear you want to help! Good luck! :)

Short of actually going vegetarian, cutting back on meat is probably the best. After all, over 95 percent of the animals killed in the U.S. are killed to become someone's food. You can buy less cruelly produced meat--there really is no such thing as humane meat. You can cut out all non-food animal products, such as animal skins and bee products. You can buy from companies who don't test on animals.

And when you do eat meat, use it as a condiment instead of the main course.

Can I ask why you're reluctant to go veg?

Go..kosher! Basicaly you only eat meat that is like treated well(massaged even:P)and killed humanely
