What's healthier for you out of the following: Beef, chicken, pork. or fish?!

Question: I eat fish quite often but occasionally chicken. Rarely pork or beef. Is this healthy?

Someone told me that fish digests quite similarly to a plant. Is this true?

I belive fish would be the healthiest option, if it is a good type of fish it will have high levels of omega 3.

And to Top Cat, this person is asking about what is healthier out of Beef, Chicken, Pork, or Fish not vegeterian/vegan meals.

And to Grey M, why would you say vegetables the person wasnt asking that. Your a top contributer and yet you gave such a stupid answer, it was completly of the topic. Were talking about what meat is the healthiest and you say vegetables.

Edit: to grey M

beef, chicken and pork is healthiest for fishes. (wrong fish eat other fish and plants)
fish, chicken and pork is healthiest for cows. (cows eat grass)
fish, beef and pork is healthiest for chickens (chickens eat grain)
fish, chicken and beef is healthiest for pigs (pigs eat plants, fruit, vegetables)

You are talking about what is healthy for humans is plant based foods and now you are trying to say that animals are good for other animals.

What are your saying that cows eat chicken, fish and pork. You have lost track on what this question is about and are now saying that meat is good for animals like the vegeterian cow that eats grass but should eat pork for what you are saying. But pork, beef, chicken and fish are not good for us.

Edit: To grey M, ok i will go to a farm and feed a cow on nothing but fish pork and chicken and if it dies I will sue you for the loss of the cow. Because what you are implying is that the animals like cows can eat meat and it is good for them but they dont want to kill animals to do it, so you are also implying that cows have a good degree of intellegence.

Wow cows are smart, yet hang on, if there so smart why dont they speak up.

generally fish will be the healthiest. but it also depends on the species of fish as well as the cut of meat that your trying to compare. some fish are fattier than others, as are some cuts of meat.

hmm... just checked back on the question and it looks like all the hippie vegetarians came through and gave everyone a thumbs down for not suggesting that all meat is bad. god d*** do i hate hippies.....

vegetables

edit: oh sorry, when you asked this in a vegetarian forum i thought you were asking about what is healthy for ME!

beef, chicken and pork is healthiest for fishes.
fish, chicken and pork is healthiest for cows.
fish, beef and pork is healthiest for chickens.
fish, chicken and beef is healthiest for pigs.
but they all prefer you to just eat vegetables, that way they are all safe from harm.

PS fish does not digest similarly to plants as they have no carbohydrates in them. Plants are made of proteins, starch and cellulose.

We don't eat them, we don't care. Besides, most of us don't think the benefits outweigh the cons.

fish

I believe fish is, but in all cases, it is what you add to all of them that is the major contributing factor in the health attributes.

I would have to say fish. I don't know about their digestion being similar to a plant though.

I would say a none of the above, But a very healthy meal would be a lovely vegetarian or vegan meal. -

Fish has the good omega 3 fatty acids. And if you are only eating it ocasionally you don't need to worry about mercury contamination.

1.Fish
2.Chicken
3.Beef

I don't think anyone should ever consume pork. Pigs eat anything in their track including their own feces. Which becomes meat on their bones in just afew hours. I would avoid anything made from a pig all together.

Then ofcourse you could choose to become a vegetarian and avoid all that, being even healthier :) Just a thought.

Your diet sounds good to me. Out of the four, I would say fish.

I would say none.

Thumbs up for TopCat!! :-)

Fish would be the healthiest.

I would say fish-- but the mercury content is just too high to be healthy.

There really isn't anything healthy for you in the animals you listed, honestly.

(1 being the healthiest)
1. Fish
2. Chicken
3. Beef
4. Pork

Fish is the best for you. Pork is fattening. To much beef is bad for you, but you can have a little. Chicken is ok, but its dry. Fish has the oils you need. Its about the only meat i eat.

I'd say fish that you have caught yourself is the best. After that free range chicken, then free range pork. beef isn't fit for human consumption.

Of all the meats pork is the easiest to digest since it's almost identical to human flesh. If that fact dosn't gross you out :-P lol

BTW: I'm a vegetarian and don't eat anything that has a face.

1. Veggies, fruit, nuts, beans & grains are the best.

2. fish
3. chicken
4. pork
5. beef

Leaner meats are healthier. But vegetarians don't eat any of those. So you may technically be better off asking in health and fitness section next time.

hello... well first of all i am a vegetarian i became one not to long ago.... we all need protein in our body every day some people get it from meat and some people get it from fish... fish is more healthy than meat and its high in protein remember most cholesterol comes from animal meat which is not good for our health...so if i was you i would stick with the fish....enjoy...

Fish is very healthy if you don't fry it or add breading.....
Chicken would be the next, same rules
Lean Beef is ok but should only be eatten a couple times a week.
Pork is ok if it is baked.

Yes, fish and chicken are healthier than beef and pork. Some fish are good sources of omega 3 fats, chicken is lower in saturated fat than beef and pork. No, fish is completely different than plants, it does not get broken down into the same things, and it is broken down differently.
