Vegans are people who do not consume meats of any kind along with not eating eggs or dairy!. They will avoid any foods that are even processed from animal biproducts!. Basically if a food has any part of an animal they will not eat it!. Vegetarians on the other hand will generally avoid all meats but will still consume eggs and dairy products!. These people are called lacto-vegetarians!. Then there are ovo-vegetarians that will not eat meat or dairy but will eat eggs!. These individuals are sometimes lactose intolerant so that is why they will avoid the dairy foods!. I hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegans are extra stupid vegetarians!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegetarians are people that eat from a plant based point of view!.

Some will do dairy - others won't!. Some will do eggs - others won't!. Some will do honey - others won't!. Mix and match combinations of all the above - and you have a massive combination of types of vegetarians!.

Vegans are a sub group of vegetarian!.

They don't do dairy, eggs, or honey at all - - well, have seen post on here that say that they are vegan that say that they do - but that is between them and the def!. of the word!.

They also don't wear or use things that have to do with animals!. That means no leather belts, shoes - but some will still wear the ones that they had prior to being vegan!.

They also are not to use things that have been animal tested such as makeup, some hair colors, house cleaning products, personal products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc!. BUT I have seen many post here that they have no problems with using regular commercial makeup, hair color, cleaning products, hygiene products and the like!.

So while many will claim that there is no variation within the 'vegan' belief - this site sure indicates that there is - or maybe just a massive lack of understanding of what words mean!.

If your talking to a person and you want to know what it is that they follow if they say they are vegetarian/vegan!?!? My suggestion - ask them to EXPLAIN what that means from THEIR point of view to better understand where they are coming from - cause it very well MIGHT not be the same view that you have!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

!.!.!.!.it's basically what the first person said!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

vegans use no animal products whatsoever and vegitarians dont eat meat but eat a certian kind/kinds of animal products (such as dairy or eggs), other than meatWww@FoodAQ@Com
