What are some good recipes for a vegetable juicer?!
Someone offered me a juicer and I didn't really want it but said what the hell and accepted it!. I just don't really know how to juice anything!.!.!.I usually make smoothies with my blender because you get the pulp and everything in there, which is the real beneficial stuff!. But what about juicers!?
I figured that I could drink some vegetable juice since I don't think that I eat enough vegetables!. So how the hell do I make vegetable juice!? I know that V8 has tomatoes and carrots in it but what else!? I need some ideas here!. Any pointers will be of great help!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Juicing veggies is a great way to reach the required quota of veggies and fruit!. It's an acquired taste, though!.!.!.you might want to take it easy at first!. The juice that will come out of the juicer will taste NOTHING like juice bought in the store!. (But it's SO much better for you!) You might want to dilute the juice with equal parts of water!. Personally, I drink it as is and I like it!.
As far as the pulp goes, the juicer will separate it!. You'll find it in the "waste" bin after your finished juicing!. Some people put that to good use by using it as a base of soups, stews, or chilis!. They use it to add more fibre to meatloaves or stuffed peppers!. If you have straight fruit pulp, you can use it in breads and muffins in lieu of sugar (makes it more dense, moist and fibrous)!. You can also use it as compost if you have plants or a garden!.
Here's how to make "V8" juice with a juicer (serves one): 1 medium-sized tomato, 1 stalk of celery, 1 clove of garlic, 2-3 carrots, 1 small bunch of parsley!. (if you want to make it a bit sweeter, add an apple)!.
To make vegetable juice, select a combination of fruit and veggies!. Wash them thoroughly and chop them (to fit in the chute) and juice away! Most fruit and veggies can be juiced with the skin on - citrus fruits are the main exception!. You can leave the pith on, but take the rind off!. (it's not only gross but can ruin your juicer)!. Bananas cannot be juiced!. If you want to add a banana to your creation, just pour the juice in a blender and add the banana that way!.
In order to juice leafy vegetables or herbs (like cabbage or parsley), wrap it around a solid object (like a slice of apple); it'll go through the juicer more smoothly!.
Clean the juicer as soon as possible after you juice (some are dishwasher safe!)!. Drink the juice w/in 15-20 mins after you collect it!. It will lose nutrients if it sits for a long time!.
Here are some of my fave recipes:
~4-5 carrots, 1 apple, 1/2" of ginger
~4 carrots, 1 beet, 1 apple, 1/2" of ginger
~1 cucumber, 1/4 of a fresh pinapple (sliced with skin on), 1/2" ginger
~1 ruby red grapefruit, 1 orange, 1 apple
~4-5 carrots, 1 apple, 1 bunch parsely, 1 clove garlic
~1/2 of a canaloupe (skin on), 1/2" of ginger
~handful of strawberries, 1 kiwi, 1 apple
~a few bunches of grapes, 1/2" of ginger, a combination of berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries!.!.whatever your faves are)
I could ramble on and on about juicing!. I hope this helps get you started!. I recommed "Juicing for Life" by Cherie Calbom and Maureen Keane!. They have a LOT of great recipes that heal almost any ailment naturally!. They also have a guide about jucing and how to begin!. Both ladies are highly educated in the food science and nutrition field!.
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make a carrot based juice and add some yummy apples, pineapple, strawberrys, watermelon, or whatever you like!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I agree, make a fruit drink but add carrots, you wouldn't taste the difference and it will taste good actuallyWww@FoodAQ@Com
When juicing vegetables, always include carrots, apple or tomatoes as vegetable juice is usually very bitter otherwise!. A mixture of carrots and apple is best!.
Pineapple can also be added to vegetable juice, but mixing any other fruit with veg doesn't really work!.
A simple and delicious juice to start with is carrot, apple, celery and cucumber!.
I agree smoothies are great, but adding fresh pineapple juice and apple juice to them can make them even betterWww@FoodAQ@Com
