Rice flour alternative?!
i have celiac disease and i'm vegetarian!. with no gluten and being vegetarian, and not being a big milk or egg fan, i'm feeling very limited on food choices!. i can do some soy, but if i eat too much, that upsets my stomach too!.
i've tried a few gluten free breads from rice flour that i got from the health food store!. i hate them!. they are so thick and dense and gross!.!.!.!. are there any alternatives to rice flour that don't contain gluten!?
and if you have a gluten free bread recipe that doesn't taste like cardboard that'd be rad!
thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Try the tapioca flour!. I love wheat "stuff" but my mom is gluten free and she has had success with the tapioca!. also try the nut flours!. I don't know any recipes, but this will give you some ideas to look into!.

Was at mom's the other day and she was baking bread that didn't smell as bad as it does when she uses just rice flour!. She said she was using a prepackaged mix!. It was "Pamela's" brand "wheat free bread mix"!. I checked the ingredients and it had an assortment of flours: sorghum, tapioca, sweet rice, brown rice, white rice, and millet, "flours"!. Maybe the trick is to use a blend, instead of just one flour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
