Is it okay for a vegan, now going to fruitarian to have honey?!
cause on sites of articles of fruitarians are alound honeyWww@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
Thrre are no animals harmed in makeing honey so you can eat itWww@FoodAQ@Com
I'm vegetarian, not vegan, but when on a vegetarian/vegan website I believe I read that bees are actually hurt in the making of honey, and when they are transported, so many vegans choose not to eat it as it is, after all, an animal product, the same way milk is!. I'll try and find the site!.!.!.
EDIT: This is what it said -
"What’s wrong with eating honey!?
Unfortunately, like factory farmers, many beekeepers take inhumane steps to ensure personal safety and reach production quotas!. It’s not unusual for larger honey producers to cut off the queen bee’s wings so that she can’t leave the colony or to have her artificially inseminated on a bee-sized version of the factory farm "rape rack!." When the keeper wants to move a queen to a new colony, she is carried with "bodyguard" bees, all of whom—if they survive transport—will be killed by bees in the new colony!. Large commercial operations may also take all the honey instead of leaving the 60 pounds or so that bees need to get through the winter!. They replace the rich honey with a cheap sugar substitute that is not as fortifying!. In colder areas, if the keepers consider it too costly to keep the bees alive through the winter, they destroy the hives by pouring gasoline on them and setting them on fire!. also, bees are often killed or have their wings and legs torn off by haphazard handling!. According to the Cook-DuPage Beekeepers Association, humans have been using honey since about 15,000 B!.C!., but it wasn’t until the 20th century that people turned bees into factory-farmed animals!. Happily, many sweeteners are made without killing bees: Rice syrup, molasses, sorghum, Sucanat, barley malt, maple syrup, cane sugar, and dried fruit or fruit concentrates can replace honey in recipes!. Using these will keep your diet bee-free!."

Fruitarians don't have honey!.
Fruitarianism, sadly, is not a sustainable diet!. I watched a programme on it and this woman suffered total HAIR LOSS because of the lack of cereals, etc in her diet!. It is much better to be a vegan!. Sorry if my answer sounds harsh, but I don't like the idea of living on fruit alone!. :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Considering that many of our vegetable crops and nut crops, like almonds are pollinated by bees, that bee keepers charge a price for moving the bees from field to field, I'd say YES!.!.!.
besides I don't believe they are harmed!.!.
that's nonsense; otherwise the bee keepers wouldn't make a profit, would they!?!?!?
and some of our crops would be in peril without the beesWww@FoodAQ@Com

vegans don't eat honey!.!.!. nor do fruitarians!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I think it's a personal choice!.
I know vegans who don't eat honey, and I know vegans who do!.
My mother is vegan and eats honey because she's seen honey being collected, and she didn't find it that harmful!. My mother usually gets her honey from local beekeepers associations though, who are usually raising bees to pollinate their crops, and so care about the bee's quality of living more than their honey!. She also knows that honey is a "super-food" and has many health benefits!.
I am vegan and I don't eat honey, mostly because there are loads of substitutes, and most the things I find honey in are mass-produced, and so the honey they put in the products would also be mass-produced, and the honey-producers wouldn't care about their bees like small-scale honey producers do!. also, I don't like the thought of eating a product made by another living thing that has been taken away from them(bees) without their permission!.
It's really something that you have to decide on for yourself, but I think if you're going to eat honey, you should find a local beekeeper's association and see if you can get honey from them!. If you get honey from a source like that, you can go and watch them collect it, and it will have pollen from local plants, which will help build up your immunity so that you'll suffer less from pollen allergies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

reading all these, i feel you all
i'd like to be a fruitarian (eat only fruits, i'd be closer to God's garden)!.!.!.!.!.
but also i'd be neglecting vegetables (which have so many things we needddd, they grow for us)
and also
i'd be neglecting the holy mother cow which NEEDS to be milked (after eating lots of grass today)!.!.!.!.!.!.!.usually by hand by our peasants who give me their good cheap milk (not expensive!) and also their home-made cheese
also!.!.!.from month to month, the lonely fisherman who goes to fish and meditate on the lake brings home a few fishes that he then eats, everytime once a month, not to destroy by any means the natural equilibrium
also honey is bee's food!.!.!.!.since the bees are not attacking the bee-grower like crazy it means they are in a strong communion with him!.!.!.!.!.
i can't stop eating nature's best, honey, from my friends bees, because America has corporations that do bad stuff to animals (bees) to make more money, more power and eventually opress us!.!.!.!.if they stop doing it to bees they'd find somebody else,!.!.!.!.!.!.i'm getting all my honey from private bee-growers from my home-town, which have 2-3 dozens of hives in a beautiful natural landscape, 20-30 km away from the quiet city!.!.!.!.!.!.
frutarian !? oh how much i'd like also to only feed on fruits!.!.!.this way i'd be way much pure, i feel, but also i'd be lacking half of what my body needs in order to be healthy so like!.!.!.!.!.have veggies as well!.!.!.!.and i recommend fish at least once a month (see for yourself)!.!.!.!.!.
and also lots of soyyyyy milk as well, it's a wonderful thing, i love it a lot :)
that's eating healthy, morally even if you will, and passing by and say hello to "VEGANS" "VEGETARIANS" "LACTO-VEGETARIANS" and all!.!.!.!.!.
these are good packagings and trends, not your health!.!.!.!.
hope it helped
cheers (i'm 28 not 45) :))Www@FoodAQ@Com
