Answers:
You should be fine! In fact, there are tons of health benefits to cutting out meat and meat products--lower cancer risk, lower chance of heart disease and high cholesterol, better weight management, etc!.!.!.to name a few :-) It isn't as hard as you think to get the nutrients you need, just eat healthy as usual!. a nice wide variety of fruits and veggies!.!.!.definitely get some books or other resources and make sure you know what you need to be doing!. There is plenty of stuff out there in the libraries and on the web that will help you plan your new diet!. As long as you are well-informed and responsible, there isn't too much cause for concern!. as you get used to eating meals without meat, it'll become second nature for you to know which foods give which nutrient!. take a vitamin, too, to be safe!. It will take a little extra effort when eating out, though--you have to be careful to make sure what you've ordered isn't made with dairy products, and that is hard to do sometimes!. So you'll be a lot more limited in options in that respect, but as far as cooking at home--there are all sorts of vegan cookbooks that can give you healthy and yummy substitutes for foods you already love!. You won't even know they're missing something! Trust me, I ate a vegan cookie yesterday, and it was darn tasty!.

don't worry so much about the protein thing!.!.people like to make that the main concern, but it really shouldn't be one!. Most Americans get way too much protein, in fact!. And it isn't just found in meat, you know! there are lots of beans and veggies that have adequate amounts of protein in them!.!.!.find out what they are and make sure you include them, you'll be fine!.

Just remember, technically you can be a vegan if the only thing you eat is french fries, but that isn't healthy for anyone, regardless of whether you eat meat!. You've just got to keep a balanced diet no matter what "diet" you're on, and as long as you play by the rules and take care of yourself, there really isn't any reason why you should have to have red meat (or any meat product) in order to be healthy!.
