Why do carnivores think we vegans don't get enough protein?!

Question: Why do carnivores think we vegans don't get enough protein!?
The very staple of our diet, the soybean is chock-full of protein and necessary amino acids!. And some protein is in almost every food in our diets!.!.!.

Here is a list of some sources of vegan protein, in things as common as peanut butter

Answers:
People just say that for an excuse to kill animals!. Vegans get lots of protein and are very healthy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

ignorance mostly!. I drink lots of soy milk, milk, I eat eggs, yogurt, cheese, beans, veggie meats, and almonds!. Theres no way you can't get enough protien from a vegetarian diet!.

ADD: Oh well Spring!. Vegetarian/vegan!.!.were all friends!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Only 2 possible reasons: They don't know or are trolling!.

BTW-saying this "Oh, and this is a troll free zone" will only make the trolling worse!.

BTWW-Carnivores is an inaccurate description!.

Jordan--the question says "vegan"!.

Jordan--just mentioned it because it changes the question dramatically since many vegetarians regularly consume eggs and dairy to account for protein whereas vegans don't!.

apres-vous---a quote from your own link "it was impossible to conclude that the introduction of starchy foods into the diet lay behind the emergence of larger brains in humans!."--I would hope you aren't intentionally misleading!.

celtic--when in the 50 years has the food industry said that meat is the only source of protein!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sometimes they are victims of societal thinking!.

If the whole thinks it's true, it must be, right!? Wrong!.

"Where do you get your protein!?" This is by far the most common question I get, but most are just curious; not meaning to degrade!.

Edit: Scotty down below, there is sufficient evidence that root-based starches like potatoes, carrots, and onions were the reason humans had an evolutionary advantage, not necessarily meat consumption!.

I am not a Vegan but my daughter is and when she made that decision, I did a massive search about the topic!. Vegans are very healthy people as long as they do take vitamins and/or eat a well balanced diet!. I eat vegetarian with some meats occasionally!. People usually don't want to make the change to a diet with no meat, so they bad-mouth people who do eat a healthy Vegan diet!. I commend you because I know it takes a lot of discipline and research to be successful in the Vegan world!. More power to ya!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ignorance and lack of information!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I prefer to be called an "omnivore", as it's far more accurate!. I do not live on meat alone!.

Anyway, I know vegans get plenty of protein!. Anyone who believes protein is confined to meat is ignorant of the truth and not very realistic!.

-shrugs-Www@FoodAQ@Com

Actually I'm an omnivore becase I eat a variety of food!. I have cut down considerably on red meat products and fats!. I also drink soy milk!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Protein is the last mantra the meat industry can use to brain wash the sheeps! -

Honestly, if you ask a person how much protein their individual bodies need, they have no idea!

As a vegan, I know the formula, to work out how much protein my body needs everyday!Www@FoodAQ@Com

They dont understand and dont bother to learn anything about our choices, they just choose to bash us!.

(BTW: They are omnivores, carnivores only eat meat)Www@FoodAQ@Com

For over 50 years the push in the Food Industry has been such!. Lots of money has been spent on this "brain washing"!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think it is because they're jealous, and cling to the lame excuse that meat is healthy for you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

many meat-eaters are extremely ignorant and think all vegans eat are vegetables!. and they think well, vegetables dont have protein, so they must get no protein!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Vegans DO get enough protein!.

It's just a myth!. :-)

I am sure you get plenty of protein!. I have never seen protein deficiency in the western world!

Vegans rock! ^_^

[edit] when will people realise that meat is NOT the only source of protein!!

THIS is why I don't eat meat (not for the faint hearted!)--->

They are ignorant and uneducated! :) summed that up quite well if i do say so myselfWww@FoodAQ@Com

omg i dont know!.!.!.im vegetarian and people are like what do you eat for protein and im like alot of things!.!.it sure is annoying isnt it!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Just pure ignorance!.
Amino acids and protein are found all over the place!.!.!. they're unavoidable!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

a lot of vegans are vegans for alterior reasons to fit into a certain group!.!. not all of them eat soy!.!. a couple of my friends eat very poorly and talk about all the weight they have lost!.!. people use animal products without even realizing it!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

BUT, you cant get the same nutrients and enzymes from meat as u do with rabbit food!.

humans didnt become the dominate animal on rabbit food!.!.!.!.!.just a heads upWww@FoodAQ@Com

You realize that carnivores don't "think" about protein, right!? Carnivores aren't really thinking abstractly at all!. I know of no cheetahs, polar bears, alligators, or hyenas who worry about vegans!. In fact, the only thing they would think about you is how delicious you would taste!.

Humans are omnivores!.!.!. by function and design!.

By the way, you're wrong about humans being herbivores!. Our stomach capacity when fully distended is about 4 pints!. It takes ALOT more leaves and grasses than that to get the nutrients we need!. This is why true herbivores are large!.!.!.cows, giraffes, elephants, etc!.!.!. they need to carry around large stomachs and they need to eat all the time!Www@FoodAQ@Com
