Answers:
Food, silly!.

Fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and beans--that covers quite a bit of ground, wouldn't you say!?

As for protein, even vegans get more protein than they really need!. You don't want too much protein because it strips calcium from your bones (animal protein is especially acidic, causing calcium loss) and taxes your kidneys!.

If you're parents think you aren't getting enough protein there are three possible reasons: 1) they've fallen for the protein myth like most people; 2) you don't get enough calories; or 3) you eat mostly junk food!.

Some simple meals: A bean and rice burrito with salsa or grilled veggies!.

Pasta witih marinara sauce!. If you saute some kale/collards/greens and pour the marinara over it, it's really healthy!.

A stir fry with cubed tofu or tempeh instead of meat!. Many grocery stores also carry vegetarian meal-starter strips that are designed for stir-fries or fajitas!. Lightlife makes "beef" and "chicken" varieties!.

A veggie burger with oven-baked fries!.

If you like meatloaf, you can make veggie versions!. Google Vegetarian Loaf Studio, and there's a website where you can customize your own veggie loaf!.

There is a web site, try searching using the word vegetarian, that tells you!. Are you a lacto-vegan!? An ovo-lacto-vegan!? There is more than one kind of vegetarian!. Some avoid ALL animal products, like milk, butter, eggs, etc!. And some will eat everything except meat itself!. And some will not eat OR wear OR use anything that is animal-related!. NO leather shoes or belts or purses, etc!. No suede either!. YOu need to decide what kind of vegan you are first, then you can easily find on the 'net what your type of vegan can have!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

why would you become a vegetarian when you don't even know what it means!? What are your reasons for becoming one!? Sounds like you are just following a trend because you say you still want to consume meat! Meat is meat, it comes from animals and if you wish not to eat animals then you must not eat ANY meat doesn't matter whether its white or red!. Meat is good for you and without it you could end up anaemic, we are meant to eat meat, if we weren't then I'm sure all meat would taste like crap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

beans are loaded with protein and thats a main dish for a vegan!. I tell you one good dish for a vegan is a cheese pizza loaded with onions and any other veggie you likeWww@FoodAQ@Com

What do your mom or dad make for dinner!? if it's a meat, carb and vegetable usually that's great because you can just have the carb and the vegetable and heat up a can of baked beens or have a small salad, or something that has a lot of protein and eat that!.
also if you eat dairy and eggs dairy has a lot of protein and so do eggs!.
For snacks have a slice of bread with peanut butter, or nuts or something!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the main nutrients that vegetarians miss out on are protein (from meat), iron (from red meat) and omega 3 (from fish)!.
you can get protein from beans and nuts, you can get iron from caulflower and you can find omega 3 in flax-seeds (also known as lin-seeds) or flax-seed/lin-seed oil!.
i hope i helped :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here are some good recipes:

Stir fry- You need cut up tofu, soy sauce, olive oil, steamed veggies, and cooked rice

Get a frying pan and coat it with olive oil!. The put the tofu in the pan and brown each side of it!. Next, add the veggies!. Add a little soy sauce and put in the rice!. Mix everything up and then let it sit on the stove, occasionally stirring it to make sure it doesn't burn!. After about a minute and a half of that put it in a bowl and enjoy!

Hummus- chick peas, lemon juice, paprika, black pepper, and any other spices/seasonings you like

Puree the chick peas!. Then add a little lemon juice, paprika, pepper, and other spices!. Then stir!. Serve with a pita, with cucumbers, or on a veggie wrap!.

My daughter just became a vegetarian and I have been having trouble coming up with good recipes!. But I recently stumbled upon some on this women's health site!.

You need to try to convince your mother to keep animal products out of everything but the meat!. For instance, vegetables, rice, grains, etc can be served at the table with butter on the side, not in the dish itself!.

Learn to cook main dishes in quantity and freeze them in individual portions!. Then you can just grab one from the freezer, thaw, and heat it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
