How do vegans feed their pets?!

Question: How do vegans feed their pets!?
I owned dogs so i have to know!.!.!.since vegetarians and vegans with animals rights folk are against eating meat, do you have dogs or cats for pets, animals who have to eat meat & feed them as so, have them & withhold meat from their diet or do you just get more vegan animals like gerbils & hamsters rabbits etc!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have chosen to not eat animal products, but my cats have not, one gets fed meat, the other prefers to catch his fresh!. What they each choose to eat and their carnivorous lifestyle no more reflects on what I choose to eat and my vegan lifestyle than say; what my next door neighbour decides to eat, does!. We are three different individual living beings with three different lives and different eating habits!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Interesting question!. I think I have quite a relaxed attitude about this issue!. I'm veggie and I own a bunny!. Which is a vegan animal!. ^_^

However if I had a dog or a cat, etc, I would feed it meat!. Because dogs eat meat, not tofu!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Being a vegan is a personal choice right!? Well you can't push it on your dog!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Currently I have charge over a Husky and a long haired female cat!. I have been feeding my Husky vegan dog food for a number of years and has been doing quite well!. In fact the oldest lived dog in Britain (27 human years) was a vegan!.

It can be expensive especially since he is a big guy but I found the cheapest best option through Petco!. You buy 10 bags in a year and they give you one free!. Before the free bag it works out to about one dollar per pound which is out of this world for vegan dry dog food!. Buy the 37!.5 pound bag of Nature's Recipe vegetarian dog food!.

Another good brand are V-Dog but shipping kind of kills you!. There are some outlets I hear but I don't know where!.

For our cat I am starting to feed her vegan as well!. I am at present mixing in her old meat based food with the new vegan food!. Female cats have an easier time going vegan than male cats!. I suggest either vegecat food or evolution

Both animals are doing just fine on the diet!. In fact my Husky was quite fat and used to waddle but now is a much healthier weight, has more energy, and his coat is shinier!. Vegan pet food tends to be higher quality than the meat based foods which often use the scraps off the floor or diseased meats!.

In the future though I might rescue a pet that is more stereotypically known for their vegan diet!. As for now I can sleep at night knowing that my pets have not caused needless suffering and death as well as cutting back on medical expenses associated with poor quality meat diets!.

I have a rescue cat, he decided I was going to rescue him!
I am a vegan myself but i feed my cat an Holistic free range food by a very ethical company!. =^!.!.^= I personally wouldn't feed my cat a vegan diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I usually put my kitty food in a bowl!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This seems to be a daily question here!. I feed my cat dry meat flavored cat food!. A cat doesn't have the digestive tract to handle a purely vegetarian diet!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The first consideration is what is best for your companion animal!. From what I read, dogs do very well on vegetarian dog food, but cats are obligate carnivores that can't be healthy without meat, even though there are vegetarian cat foods on the market!. I feed my cats the same food I have always fed them, since I personally made a commitment to care for these particular animals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My problem is with factory farming, not carnivorous animals eating animals!. You aren't a carnivore!. Just because you CAN eat meat doesn't make you an omnivore!. My cats like to eat my food, it doesn't make them any less carnivores!. My cats are raw fed local pasture-raised animal meat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've lived with my cat for over 13 years, since she was 3!. I've been veg about half that time!. However, while humans can do fine without meat, cats cannot!. So my little furbaby gets prescription dry food (at her age, she has a little renal insufficiency) and canned foods I buy at natural pet supply stores!. I also don't buy products that contain cows' milk products, as she is a cat, not a cow, and dairy is bad for cats!.

That said, she shows enormous interest in what I eat, especially when I'm eating potatoes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Feed it human flesh!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
