Answers:
yes you should be taking some type of vitamin supplement since you are only 14 and have alot of growing yet to do!.

calcium is very important especially for women b/c of our risk of developing osteoporosis (depletion of calcium in the bones, causes the bones to break easily)!. Since you have removed dairy from your diet, you're going to need the vitamins to keep the required calcium in your body!.

B/c of your age, I would strongly consider talking to your dr about the diet plan you wish to follow and see if he/she has a vitamin they can recommend for you to use that would be best suited for you!.

good luck!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes u shouldWww@FoodAQ@Com

You should try and substitue the protein your losing from those products with organic subs and also take vitamins with those substitutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can take vitamins but vitamin A is now a BIG NO NO! research has just shown (very recently like last week) that vitamin A does not help you and actually can SHORTEN YOUR LIFE SPAN!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, you need to replace the nutrients that you are losing from cutting back!. You need to get the recommended daily value of all vitamins!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should try getting all the vitamins that you need from the foods that you eat!.

- BUT - considering all the mess that they are doing to our food - the over working of many fields to the point that they don't have the vitamins within the ground as they used to - along with a host of other reasons too long to put here -

*I* take vitamins!. I also made sure to get some sublingual B12 because they have found out recently that it isn't only vegetarian/vegans that have a problem not having this vitamin - but meat eaters as well!. So even if you JUST became a vegetarian/vegan - you could already have a problem with not having this vitamin!.

I am one of those that rather play it safe vs!. just think because the things that I eat have it fortified with it meets all my needs!.

It isn't toxic - so your not going to overdose on it!. To not have enough of it within your system can lead to nerve damage, personality disorders, depression - all sorts of things that you really don't want to have happen to you!. As I have typed - who knows how many times here in the last week - there is an article in "Vegetarian Times", April 2008 issue that talks about it - written by a vegetarian doctor!.

Taking a good multi vitamin isn't going to hurt you at your age!. Your still growing and very active I would think!. There are a host of vegetarian vitamins on the market that are easy to find - on and off the internet - a trip to a health food store will help you find them I would think!.

Hope that helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is difficult making sure you have enough vitamins in your diet, if you're a vegetarian!. My friend started feeling dizzy, would go blank, black outs etc!. By making sure she does eat balanced diet after a week she was OK!.

Pills are no use either, you only get an absorption of around 20%-30%, rest is just passed in urine!. Find liquid vitamins!. They have a higher rate of absorption!.

Now even better is ---- super foods, 'Spirulina' and 'Chlorella',
they contain all the vitamins and nutrients you need, and 60% of their mass is protein!. They contain all the essential and non essential amino acids!. They have a lot of other health benefits!.

So rather than just taking vitamin pills, I will highly recommend Spirulina and Chlorella supplements!. The best vegetarian food!.

Sweetie I'm concerned because you said "'m 14 and I've always had problems with eating right!." You may want to consider just cutting out meat for now and still eating eggs and dairy!. A Vegan diet is hard for a teen to follow since you don't do the grochery shopping or cook your own food!.

Everyone should take a daily multi vitaminWww@FoodAQ@Com

YES, take vitamin B12 and a daily mult-vitamin !. !. you can get both of these at Target : )Www@FoodAQ@Com

I you're eating a balanced vegan diet full of fruits, vegetabes, beans, nuts, grains and leafy greens, the only vitamin you should need is b-12!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Get a couple good vegetarian cookbooks and take a B12 and a daily mult-vitamin!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Did you not see the news the other day!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
